Just as official confirmation, it was included as part of the weekly product updates that Diamond sends to retailers every week (see here).

Honestly, I would return the book to Amazon for that and the missing #38. I'd rather have my own bind that some poorly planned piece of crap from DC.
Sorry, but you're over reacting. Okay, a few images were stretched an inch or so. I never would have noticed unless someone pointed it out or if I owned the floppies. It's not a huge deal. And 38 was no accident. They purposefully left it out to be in volume 3. Whether any of us agree with DC if it's the right move or not doesn't matter, that's what they're doing. Sure it's not perfect, but it's far from crap

It's my right as a consumer to overreact - well, I mean, it would be if I had bought the book. I'm still miffed about the off-cover deboss stamp on Fall of the Mutants, and consider that book to be distasteful because of it - and that didn't even have to do with the contents!

On that note, if they don't ever release an omnibus, they should at least continue with hardcovers and complete vol. 2. There were definitely some low points in each of the runs that followed Moore's, but overall it was a great series that remains largely uncollected.
Sorry should have been more specific. I was thinking more (no pun intended) a Vol 1 omnibus covering Bernie Wrightson art and then Michelinie's stories (two artists I admire). Perfect omnibus size - 24 issues. I know there is a Wrightson OHC that I have, but an omni for the entire run would be lovely.

I get being a little pissed about the missing issue, but it's been confirmed that A: there will be a volume 3 and B: 38 will be in volume 3. Like I said, many of us might not agree with DC on this matter, but at least we know they did not forget it. I understand being a tad upset about it, but I think your post conveyed a lot more than I think it's worth. And you haven't even bought the book, so what's the big deal? :p

Had Batman: Knightfall and Ellis Stormwatch turn up the other day from Amazon. Well packaged in Pheonix. Batman is about what I expected considering the number of pages and price, and I'm pretty happy with it. The Stormwatch HC is a suprisingly well put together package. I was shocked to see it has a sewn binding, rather unusual for a DC book as slim as this one. The paper is spot-on and the reproduction is nice. Now I just wish the wait for vol 2 wasn't so long, and hopefully we'll also see an Ellis Authority book to round out the whole collection.
    Omactivate! RIP

Anyone know if the Stormwatch vol 2 HC will include the Stormwatch/Aliens crossover issue?

Reading animal man this week made me wish dc would release a nice omnibus of the whole Morrison run already. Come on! Perfect time to cash in on a-man's new found popularity!

Due to licensing issues I'm leaning toward no.

Ooo, I may have to shell out for the Stormwatch now. Hopefully the same is in store for the Jim Lee WildCATS, as well.

Don't wanna rain on anyone's parade, but your copy of Stormwatch must be different from mine since mine's definitely glued.

I think the WildCATS is deluxe size where as Stormwatch is not.

Coulda sworn it looked sewn to me. Ribbon, thread, signatures and all. Looked like oversewing, but I guess I could have been mistaken. I think the book is too thin for a Smyth sewn binding. I'll have to double check when I get home.
