Really? Superheroes don't belong (at least in my book) in stories like that.

Doesn't bother me for some reason. I started reading comics through Batman comics, and since I've read they've always been violent.

Violence is one thing, but extreme stuff like this, I don't mind it when it is in a series from the beginning (like say my favourite series, The Authority) but when there are extreme violence amongst 'casual' violence I just don't dig it.

Extreme violence as in rape? I don't know. I've seen countless murders and tortures and once rape is involved it's a different story. Of course it's awful, but it's all awful.

In movies and comics and stuff. I don't want to make it out like I've seen stuff.

You don't see rape & murder as mean spirited? well well.....

I skipped the whole story too, didn't seem interesting to me at all, and price-wise it's pretty expensive.

I'm a big horror movie fan and I've had friends try to get me to watch "Rape and Revenge" movies (and for those of you out there who don't know, that's an actual horror sub-genre) and they don't interest me. I didn't see that scene in Identity Crisis as a shock value type of scene. They didn't show anything or anything like that.

Also, Steve Ditko's Creeper hardcover for $23.

If I remember right and it's been a while. No one flat out kills anyone, but the threat is nonetheless there.

    Default Green Lantern

    Hi, two questions:

    1) I have bought a bunch of DC Absolutes, but no Omnibuses yet. I was thinking about purchasing the two Green Lantern Omnibuses that are (or will shortly be) out. Can someone speak to their production quality? Are they oversized? Stitched? Include a cloth bookmark?

    2) Any word on an Absolute Blackest Night/Brightest Day? I would love to pick up 1-2 large volumes that include all of the minis and main story arcs.

    Thanks!
Got extra comics? Trade them on CBR's Trading Forum!

production quality is pretty good. glued binding, no cloth bookmark. they are more of an OHC than actual omnibus compared to what most of marvels omnibus' include.
Marvel: ASM, Deadpool, Thor, Iron Man, etc
DC: Batman and related, Green Lantern, The Flash, etc
Omnibus wishlist: Classic Deadpool, Pak Hulk, Spider-Man 2099

I'm still waiting for that Deluxe Edition Invisibles Hardcover series. Aer you listening Vertigo?

The only omnibus I own is the Alan David Capt. Britiain book. Beautiful and worth every penny I spent on it.

I'd say that if any books were to be collected in deluxe editions it will be : JLA, Action Comics and Batwoman.
Personally i also think Batman, Swamp Thing, Animal Man and Wonder Woman should be added to that list.
