That was a pretty great preview.

For those who bought the issue, this is a complete new start? I haven't really kept up on the IDW announcements, but I assumed this was just a new volume in the original Eastman/Laird series.

Yes, IDW is it's own thing and not at all tied to any other TMNT mytho. The first issue was pretty good. You should pick it up if you can.

It's been a LONG time since I picked up a TMNT comic. I admit I was never a big fan of the original comics. I only watched the cartoons. But I felt compelled to try this new series and I'm glad I did! It was great. It had the same gritty elements that made the original comics so appealing with a touch of the cartoon influences as well. Plus, we got a potential Krang showing up! Overall, I was pleasantly surprisd with the first issue. I will definitely be picking up the next issue whenever it comes out.

This was really a great start. Glad it was a reboot, since I still haven't read the Mirage stuff. I thought the characterization of the main players was spot on, and I really like the new villain, Old Hob. I'm definitely hooked on this.

Stockman did did indeed make an appearance, I won't spoil it in case you haven't read it but it's cool.

Also Krang is in it, but whether he's a brain or not is yet to be seen.

Think I'm going to pick this up, haven't read a single piece of TMNT material for probably over a decade now, been way to long.

I bet Krang'll be an Utrom. That's more or less what he was based on when he was created.

This is good stuff, cant wait for issue #2. Not sure how I feel about the April O'Neil situation or the Casey Jones for that matter, but I'm in for the ride. I'm sure the story will be good.

    *SPOILER ALERT*

Now that i have the comic in hand and im able to view it close up Im not really a huge fan of Duncans art. Its not horrible but its not that good either.

The Old Hob turtles battle was average. I didn't specifically dislike anything about it but nothing from art to the specific story stood out to me.

I liked the plot line of April working for Baxter and obviously having something to do with splinters and the turtles creation. Fresh take for IDWs turtles universe.

It looks like their Rewriting Raphael and Casey Jones as a twist on the batman and robin origins story. I felt it wasn't very original but it may still surprise me yet.

General Krang and Baxter Stockman interested me the most.I would have liked to see some of the experiments Baxter was conducting but I'm sure that will come later. Those two characters definitely left me wanting more.

All in all i'm looking forward to seeing where this is going.

He certainly was based on them in the cartoon, but here? With everything else that is being altered I'm just not sure he will be an Utrom yet, he very well could just be the blood thirsty, James Bond styled villain/ ruler of a banana republic that he seemed to be in his short appearance.

    Or, he could be both.

The first thing that poped in my head when they showed that fist waving in anger was Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget. IDWs well known for its cross overs. Coincidence? I think not.
