It wasn't on the Diamond shipping list. So, probably not.

That preview was amazing, and you know the writers did a really great job when the introduce a new character like Old Hob and yet he feels like he's always been a part of the world.

Yeah until I read the interview in the back I thought he was a character that had been introduced some time after vol. 1

I thought that perhaps he was a character from the Archie comics, or perhaps from image. He just really felt like a totally organic part of the world.

It really was a great issue, the origin has me really intrigued so I'm excited to see how it plays out.

Spoiler ahead.. sorta.. I don't consider it to really spoil anything but some people are overly sensitive..

It was a great first issue but I was a bit thrown by Casey's introduction, it looks like IDW is introducing him to the series as an abused teen. So I'm going to go out on a limb and assume he'll still be a bad ass, only this time he'll become one because of the Turtles. Not that it matters much, I never much cared for the Casey character.

How do I know this was a good read? I finished it with a smile. I'll post a full review in a bit.

There sure have been a lot of good #1's this year.

yeah i was a bit thrown as well as the Casey introduction. I liked it though, a new spin on these turtles. I think i will stick with this for a few issues and see where it stands in a few months.

In the back of the ashcan they had an interview section where they say they are going to take cues from all the TMNT universes so all sorts of characters may appear. THey said Baxter will show up for sure, I'm assuming from the original series because they also said this series will be more dark and less goofy than the cartoons and Archie series.
