Just got back into comics after a 10 year hiatus and I just realized there's going to be a metric shit ton of variants. Im a completest but am having trouble finding a decent link listing all the issues of # 1? Preferably with pics and purchase details.

Venom? You seem to be the go to guy for all things TMNT comic related. Help a bro out?

This guy has them all laid out in one picture and pretty well detailed. According to the comments on the article though, the K variant is actually the Detroit Fanfare variant, whereas the bottom right "?" variant is the NECRA one. And according to someone on the Technodrome forums, that other "?" variant is the Hastings variant.

He's also got a post detailing the variants for issue #2 if you want to check that out as well.

I read the SDCC ashcan preview and thought it was good. I liked the interior art and the new character. The back of the preview has an interview and the direction they plan on taking the series sounds interesting too

I just remembered to look for a copy on Ebay. I'm excited to see the new book.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives.

That guy was me :D but yeah the top right ? is the Hastings variant, the bottom right is the front of the NECRA variant.

Apparently there are about 2 different blank con covers (back of NECRA, Detroit Fanfare)

    So let's see;

    1. Leo
    2. Raph
    3. Mike
    4. Don
    5. Double-gate folded cover
    6. Colored Eastman
    7. Sam Keith
    8. Sketch Eastman
    9. Hastings
    10. NECRA
    11. Detroit Fanfare
    12. Jetpack Comics

    Wow Venom,

So your the go to guy for all thing turtle then.

Anybody order from http://www.jetpackcomics.com/ before? and if so do you know if they ship their comics bagged and boarded? I emailed them but haven't heard back.

I want to order their issue 1 turtle variants but don't want to spend $30 + to have my floppys thrown loose in an envelope. Mirage is doing that now and it drives me insane.

*ETA* - Jetpack got back to me. They ship everything bagged and boarded and in a box. That's 6 down only 6 more issue 1's to go.

Thanks; there are definitely more of us out there, some even better versed than me, but it seems I'm one of the very few here on CBR - which is surprising considering how massive this site is.

I glean my information some several sources, but alas I'm not as active enough on here to keep folks on the cutting edge.

Oh! Have you pre-ordered the Ultimate Collection hardcovers? You can snag them both on Amazon for the price of just one full-retail. If you'd like to eventually see City at War get the collected treatment it is highly critical that you pre-order the books. There has been a lot of stressing that point over on IDW's forums.

Im pretty excited about this and hoping the print quality and packing is better then the Heavy Metal version.

Pre ordered the first one around the time this thread started then a few days ago I saw the second one sitting in my amazon quick picks (quick picks gives an extra discount on top of the already 41% off if you purchase the item within a designated time frame) and snatched it up for around $27 shipped.

On another note Ive secured 9 out of the 12 variants of issue 1 (plus the Ashcan). Still need to track down an Eastman 1/50 sketch variant and the hasting and Detroit issues. Anybody has any leads please point me in the right direction.

Also really need to find a one stop online shop for future issues. I've found Mycomicshop isn't that good for variants. Any suggestions?

I should preorder but I buy my stuff from amazon with gift cards from doing surveys and Im saving up for something else. If I can get more I will definitely order the hardcovers.

Well I guess I'll throw it out there that a couple more #1 variants turned up in the Previews order list.

MAY118409 TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES ONGOING #1 LARRYS COMICS ED
    PI 24-Aug-11

MAY118410 TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES ONGOING #1 WONDERWORLD ED
    PI 24-Aug-11

Venom, looks like you've got a couple more to add to your checklist if you're trying to get all variants.

Good find Rat A Tat. I emailed Larry at http://www.larryscomics.net/contact.html and Wonderworld http://www.wonderworldcomics.com/indexB.html for the specifics. Ill post the relevant details as soon as I hear something.

ETA- It is NOT the Wonderland comics in Rochester, NY

Heard back from Larrys Comics, well sort of. I wrote asking very specific questions about if the variant was for his shop and how to get it and I received just a link response "http://larryscomics.net/shop.html" in reply.

I guess its safe to assume that variant is a new one to add to the list and is for Larrys Comics and will be available at http://larryscomics.net/shop.html sometime in the near future.

Thanks for the response Larry your attention to detail is impeccable.

Heh, King, I bet Larry copy and pasted the same email he sent me. Well, he said it would be up on said link "ASAP" so I thought he meant literally asap, but perhaps he means asap on Wednesday? We'll just have to keep checking the page.

He also said it's a retailer-exclusive 1000 copy variant run (which all of these retailer-exclusive variants are, I believe), but no details about the actual cover itself.

You did better then me then. He literally just sent the link and that's it. No answering questions, discussions or other commentary. Just a link.

I discovered these a few days ago too, and from what I've discerned, the Larry's Comics variant is the NECRA cover, and the WonderWorld version is the Detroit Fanfare cover.

Bobby Curnow @ IDW seems to think so, too.
