Frank is a cool guy.
Most def! Such a genuine fella. I hope you post some pics sometime of the art - Frank has a very clean style that's always nice to look at.

Along those lines, for those that haven't discovered yet, Kevin Eastman has a deviantart page and posted up some pieces:

The latest from the SCDD IDW Panel:

3:39: Ryall then spoke about upcoming TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLE projects. He directed the audience to Tom Waltz who spoke about his involvement with the project. Wood added, "We really were excited to get Kevin Eastman involved with this. We almost just want to publish Eastman's layouts" Waltz joked about working with Eastman and how nervous he was to work with one of the creators of the Ninja Turtles. He remarked, "We are re-introducing the Turtles to the world. He liked everything we had to show him. Kevin and I have one thing in common--we both like the grittier elements of the Turtles. So you'll be seeing a lot of Casey Jones as well as some new characters."
    Thursday July 21, 2011

3:39 - 3:41: Several slides were shown of Eastman's layouts of the covers of upcoming TMNT covers. Ryall announced that IDW would be bringing back the TMNT micro-series as well--each one focusing on an individual Turtle.
    Thursday July 21, 2011

3:41 -3:42: Wood and Ryall began showing teaser slides of upcoming projects including a slide for INFES2ATION featuring characters from DANGER GIRL, TRANSFORMERS, G.I.JOE and TMNT from January until the summer of 2012.

I loved the Archie series. Two things got me into that -- Ken Mitchroney's art and the wrestling outfits!

Personally I'm haveing a hard time getting excited for the IDW Turtles projects because I was so personally invested with what Peter Laird was doing with the Turtles over at Mirage for the last 10 years. I personally can not FATHOM why anyone would want to sellout their creation to a faceless corporation like Viacom.

Since finding out Eastman will be involved with the IDW series, I'm marginally more interested in the project, to the point where I'm willing to give it a chance. My fear is that now that there is a coporaration with controling ownership, the TMNTs will never change or evolve again.

I am VERY interested in the Original TMNT Comic Deluxe Hard Cover collections though.

I say this without a smartass intonation, but go read Pete's blog to find out his reasons why he sold.

He didn't intend on selling in the beginning, it was mainly Gary Richardson proposing the possibility, then Nick began courting and the ball ran from there.

Peter also goes more in-depth with the psychological implication it brought to him after the sale, and the personal freedoms it gave him.

The Raph one-shot, or the main series?

    Tom Waltz - writer/Kevin Eastman co-writer/layouts
    Dan Duncan on pencils
