Oh, I'm in. I'm a semi-old Trekkie who loved the new movie and I was so hoping for a comic spinoff. I'm excited to see some interior art. I know Stephen Molnar's stuff from IDW's Star Trek: Mission's End mini, and he seems like a great choice based on that.

    Exclamation

What about the other Star Trek properties? No more assorted mini-series?

"The debut issue will also feature a golden ticket promotion, with more details to come shortly from IDW."

paging Willy Wonka, paging Willy Wonka...
Comics still reading: Saga, Sixth Gun, Walking Dead, All New X-Men, Daredevil, Fury MAX. DC New 52 isn't the worth the paper its printed on...

with IDW controlling the licensing we will see 17 variant covers for each issue.
I enjoyed the Alien Spotlights but, lost interest after that.

I dont really care for the new JJ/Orci verse either.

Now if this means Pocket Books can finally release the four post movie novels they've got lying in wait, I'd be REALLY happy.

Looking very forward to this comic.

Thumbs up My wish has finally been granted

I've been wanting a monthly ongoing Trek comic book since Wildstorm had the license. Minis and one-shots covering various unexplored aspects of Trek lore are nice, but I came from the era when DC had the license and was telling new TOS stories every month set between the movies.

Funny how history repeats itself sometimes...

I guess I'll finally be adding something other than a DCnU title to my pull list in September.

I've read a IDW Star Trek mini and thought it was pretty good. I'll check this out. I've thought they should do a monthly for awhile.

I'm happy to get an ongoing, but I hope they'll also have more minis from various periods down the line. I loved the variety of all the minis and 1 shots we were getting.
Pull List; seems to be too long to fit in my sig...

I think the artist did a really good job on the Mission's End mini and managed to capture the likenesses of the TOS characters while still making them work within a comic book setting.

Ironically, I always thought Molnar would be a good choice if IDW did an ongoing with the original (or prime universe) TOS crew, so it'll be interesting to see him take on the alternate universe version. I'm very optimistic, though.

I will get this. I was hoping for a series that dealt with the new timeline. The first arc with the new take on "Where No Man Has Gone Before" should be interesting. Nice to have Star Trek back on the racks.
Spenser with an s... like the poet.
