Really good interview, i'm very intriqued by this guy's comics and he's always so relaxed and down to earth, very exciting.

Ahhh hearts in my eyes! ILU Scott Lobdell!I think of "Evil Ex-Robin" as the first mile of a hundred mile marathon. You had it rough, Jason, nobody likes to be murdered. Got it. But to think it is going to inform his every footstep of the race, every sip of water along the way? I don't see it. The good news is, for anyone who wants to see that side of Jason and that side alone, there are some very excellent trade paperbacks and an awesome DC animated movie written by the foremost authority on Jason Todd, Judd Winick. Judd did an excellent job reintroducing the character into the DC Universe -- I'm honored that such a complex baton has been handed off to me and I'm hoping to make Judd proud. But yes, like all great characters, Jason is going to grow, his branches reaching to the Heavens even as his roots as ex-Robin are still in the ground.
OK, I've never been the biggest fan of Kory, I don't hate her by any means, but I've never been all that interested in reading about her. This comment? Definitely makes me want to read about her. Edit: And I should add it's because he seems to be dispelling the fandom perception that Kory is a bimbo, when she's not. These three seem to have odd fandom perceptions around them: that Kory is a bimbo, that Jason is a whiner and that Roy is a jerk. I always find it sad when that's what people take away from the characters when that's just so not them at all.Similarly, there is a reason why Kory wakes up and goes to bed with a smile on her face, and it isn't because she's a bimbo. It is because she has survived the worst that the universe could throw at her, and she is acutely aware of that. She doesn't just love Earth, she loves life and she loves freedom in a way that those of us who've never had it taken away could never hope to understand.

I have to say, I've seen some rather polarized reactions to Scott Lobdell's presence in the relaunch, but I've thought each of the interviews he has provided so far has made me only want to read the books he is discussing more. I was pretty taken aback by the Red Hood solicit, and initially had no interest in a rebooted Teen Titans, having been a big fan of Young Justice in particular. But with each interview Scott Lobdell has reminded me how much I enjoyed his run on Generation X, and how good that book was before he left. He can do young people and their complex inter-relationships, he can do comic book sci fi and superhero action and comedy. And I already love the characters involved, so I'm definitely giving all of this a chance.
This is going to be an interesting time to read DC Comics this fall, and I will be curious to see how those of us who read some of it react when they do come out. I am skeptical, cautious, but somewhat hopeful for most of these developments, if not somewhat annoyed with some of them.
This Book just jumped to number 3 on my list of must haves. So im still wondering if starfire is new to earth or what.
Red Hood & The Outlaws looks pretty awesome, I'm all over that.
My Lord, the more the man talks about his books, the more I want to read them!![]()
This is the second Lobdell interview I've read since they announced the relaunch, and unsurprisingly, I now am looking even more forward to Teen Titans and RHatO. Now where's the Superboy interview? :P
Very reassuring. I like that he seems to want to move Jason past the "Bruce, Y U no love me?!" phase.
I seem to be one of the few readers who has pretty much liked everything I've read by Scott. This series though was one that I was definitely on the fence about. I just dont care about Jason Todd. I readily admit during the Robin phone in vote...I voted for him to die. A couple of times. Didn't care when he came back either, although I found it extremely interesting that they really kept him a darker character and didn't just make him all fluffy bunnies.
Then putting him with two characters I really like a lot...Arsenal and Starfire? I have to say I wasn't really sure about this book. Buuuuuut, like others, Scott's interview really has swayed me. I'm actually almost looking forward to this series.
My next hurdle will be how Rocafort draws Starfire.
Not all who wander are lost....
Aww no questions about Roy's arm.![]()
I was initially interested in this book because of the artist, and now having read both of Lobdell's interviews, it sounds like the writing is going to be great as well.
This is probably my most anticipated title in the relaunch.
I kind of wrote this book off because I've never been a Jason fan (whining's getting a bit old), but now that I know it has Roy I'm in.
