Ummm ... we are talking about the comics that gave us the infamously idiotic "Superboy punch" scenario, right?

I tend to split superhero comics fans into "People who like Krypto" and "People who don't like Krypto."

I'm talking about Final Crisi, which was a great metafictional romp of a read despite it's glaring flaws and a great event comic, one of the few good event comics

No, that was Infinite Crisis. Get your Crisises right, Dan.
I have lukewarm feelings towards Final Crisis. I appreciate that it was conceptually pregnant and it has some great moments, but ultimately, I think some of the storytelling choices, particularly those involving pacing, greatly hampered my enjoyment of the mini. It's not often these days that you read a comic that should have been extended into more issues, but FC had so many interesting developments that were simply glossed over and could have been solid individual issues in their own right.
Wrong Crisis Mr. Bailey-Superboy punch was Infinite Crisis, Final Crisis was Grant Morrison and so infallible in the eyes of some.

Oh, that one. After reading about how Uncle Fester was allowed to ignore storylines & such in other comics coming out around the same time, presumably because DC's typically spineless editorial types were afraid he'd frown at them if he wasn't allowed to follow his crystal-clear artistic vision untrammeled by such bourgeois constraints, I knew better than to waste my time.
I did read Legion of 3,6835.33775 Worlds, though. It ... looked nice.

Darkseid takes over the multiverse, slaves them with anti-life and the heroes stop him.

Still working my way thru the 2 Tomb of Dracula Essentials, a B+W Mister Miracle trade(getting my Kirby on), and 5 Project Superpowers trades i got for $30. These have been surprisingly good, though I've always had a soft spot for that revisionist type story ala All-Star Squadron.

You missed the word "again" at the end.
I'd also add "horribly written" and "rotten artwork" to the mix, but each to their own. I'm probably in the minority on this board that actually liked All-Star Superman, but other than that, I'm struggling to think of any of Morrison's work that I have liked.
Read more of Silver Streak archives, and I'm up to the SS story. Lots of 12 panel grids in this one as SS and his mascot, a bird named Wing who has been given super speed powers by becoming injected with some of SS's blood (yep, you read that correctly), try to solve 2 cases hundreds of miles away at the some time. The Daredevil stories are still the best of the bunch, of course...
Rerereading a lot of the early Doctor Strange Strange Tales material. Great fun.
Wake me up when it's over...
I enjoyed Final Crisis for the most part. I think it reads better when you skip the Superman Beyond stories that clog up the HC edition.
Read the Avengers/Masters of Evil arc last night from Avengers #274-277. Good stuff.
Animal Man, Batman Inc, Constantine, Earth 2, Flash, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Justice League, Justice League Dark, JLA, Saga, Swamp Thing, Supergirl and Superman.
