    Default Most Cynical/Bitter/Resentful Heroes/Villains?

Due to something from their past... I want to read some cuz they are quite interesting characters for me.

Any suggestions? Comics of course... preferable now in HC/trade.

    Mad Thinker?
    Cameron Hodge?
Cain Marko (for most of his history)?
    Lady Deathstrike?
    Sabretooth?
    Quicksilver?

Thanks but what about a HC dedicated to such characters? All of them you listed hardly got any of their own series. But thanks again!

Doctor Doom has been nursing a grudge against his college roommate for decades. And they didn't even share a room for a full school year.

Triumph. His whole thing is that he was a "founder" of the JLA and saved the world, but then got cheated of it because of some timeline shenanigans. His defining characters traits are pretty much resentment and bitterness and whining about his missed destiny, plus a heaping helping of annoying arrogance. Which made most fans hate him. And apparently every writer but his creator Christopher Priest, because he was very roughly treated in other hands, becoming a villain and having his genitals shrunken with a shrink ray.

I kind of liked him, though. I've always liked Priest's downbeat misfits.

Whoever it is is probably a comics reader.

(But seriously, I'd go with Quicksilver.)

There's an old Vertigo series - I think it was reprinted recently by a different company - called Skreemer.

It's by Peter Milligan and Brett Ewins and its effin' great.

The main character is a gangster in a dystopian future who possesses the power of precognition - and is incapable of altering the future he sees.

Fear Agent by Rick Remender would be absolutely perfect for you.

As heroes go, Punisher? His entire raison d'etre is due to his family being slaughtered.

I'd say the Wizard is on a par with Doom for his resentment of Reed, if not moreso. At least Doom does stuff to benefit Doom. Wizard only ever does stuff to screw Reed over.
