Ryan Reynolds said he grew up with "X-Men" and reiterated his love for the Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool.

Ryan Reynolds: "I do have that ["Deadpool"] film in development still, so we'll see what happens with that, but Green Lantern is the first sort of iconic superhero role I've been in," Reynolds said.
Well, Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan / Green Lantern seems more like a role failure after all these rotten reviews for the film.

Is Deadpool the only hope for Ryan Reynolds to stay in the comic book movie genre?

Btw, I blame crappy writing on Wolverine for the missed portrayal of Deadpool at the end of the film. I thought Reynolds himself, was good in the opening sequence with Team X.

Yeah, the negative reviews I read had no problem with Reynolds. If the franchise collapses, I don't think we can blame him. It's going to be about the script and the CGI.

I had hoped Reynolds would be a Wally West Flash, which fits his personality better and wouldn't have been as risky SFX wise. Because if Oa falls flat (and many reviewers are saying it does), then the whole thing falls apart.
