Ooo, good point. The cheapest way to get the comics digitally might be to subscribe to the paper comics from Marvel and redeem the codes. A lot of the books are 48% off.

    Here's a simple (I hope) question.

With an iPad app for reading Marvel comics, can I use the AvX codes with that to look at the digital copies of those books? Or would I need to go through comicology or some other thingamabob.

You need to redeem the codes on Marvel's website, but that's the only other place you need to visit. Everything else can be done in the app. The comics with the download codes have a step by step How To... as well, so it should be easy to follow.

They have to raise their subscription prices.

I've been paying 19.97 for 12 issues of 3.99 books. Thats dirt freaking cheap. They can't start throwing digital codes on top of that at that price

Hopefully this overhaul will mean they'll expand the range of books being offered as well. Though from reading the comments in the various con reports, it seems that the overhaul will deal with more fundamental issues like delivery times. I'm on the other side of the globe and I get my books within 3 weeks, tops. I can't believe there are US customers waiting a month!

But back on topic, it would be ironic if the addition of digital code actually increased the number of subscription sales! We'll see what the story is in a few weeks.

HOOOOO! finally a pretty good $.99 monday! Bru's Captain America 1-50! The only thing that blows is that a run that big will have to be purchased through comixology instead of the marvel app... it would take forever to purchase 50 comics individually. C'mon Marvel, get your stuff together!

I found Brubaker's storyline too decompressed 14 issues to explain how Bucky came back. it could have been told in 4 or 5.

yeah, it could have been told in 4 or 5 issues... but it would have firggin' blown. There was a lot more going on than just Bucky's resurrection. The Red Skull's death, the rise of Lukin and Sin, Sharon and Steve growing closer... and Nick Fury. It wasn't just about Bucky.

My god, the MDCU reader is horrible. It took me 8 attempts to successfully load a comic. 8! The worst part? I was having the exact same problem a year ago. If anything, it's even worse than before.

Well a new version is no doubt in the works, to be compatible with iPads, Windows 8 on ARM, and other post-Flash mobile devices. Who knows how long that will take though, or if it will actually be an improvement.

Does Marvel's Digital Comics ever offer same day as print Comixology doesn't have?

I've noticed Comixology using a web browser has comic books online sooner than the app on the ipad.
