Default Does anyone else here read Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited?

I'm into my third year of the service, and I love it. It's great if you don't mind reading older stuff. I've been in 2007 stuff for a while now and encounter almost no gaps in the runs. Unfortunately, the more recent stuff is still littered with random gaps.

I can understand Marvel wanting to keep the books behind by about 6 months, but I wish they would post the books in order. These gaps are irritating me.

    I read it.
It have been a great way to reading older marvel comics that i had not a chance to read in the past.
Many classic comics got added recently and it is impressive the amount of comics that is in the marvel digital comics unlimited collection.

I use it regularly and absolutely love it. I am currently reading through Incredible Hercules (which is a great series). There are gaps on newer stuff, but there are plenty of full runs from three/four years ago. It is such a great deal for a tight-fisted reader like me.

Glad you got your Marvel App working btw Whiteshark.

Default Digital Comics: The Marvel 99 Cent Sales Offer Buyer's Guide

    Dear Marvel Fans,

as you may know Marvel is offering on a regular basis comics for 99 cent on it's digital distribution channels. 99 Cent may is not that much but can add up quickly.

So I suggest to discuss here what comics/runs to buy or avoid on current sales offers.

The last two offers have been a clear no brainer for me: Amazing Spiderman Vol 600 up to Final issue of Spider-Island. I was all-in without hesitation.

    Let's see what's coming next.

They had issues of Spider-Man: Blue for 1.99 apiece.

I do not think that 1.99 is a sales offer. I bought all issues of Blue for 0.99 some time ago during a sales offer.

=> My 99 Cent Sales Offer Buyers Guide Thread was removed into this one - but I would like to suggest to open a exclusive 99 cent sales offer thread for recent offers. I dont want to read the whole range of Marvel Digital World just to get some informations about a one or two day sales offer. I am pretty sure there is a strong demand for a quick discussion about the 99 cent offers by other users as well!

We will see. If there seems to be enough interest to warrant a seperate thread just for Marvel/Comixology weekly specials then perhaps we will get one started. For now though, this thread has served as the best place to discuss Marvel's digital comics, including their 99 cent weekly offers which is a great service. Plus comixology does a great job of advertising their 99 cent deals on their main page, the app and through email, etc. Marvel's site has a digital section that showcases many of their best deals as well.

Feel free to use this thread to pursue your 99c Buyer's Guide conversation. Many Marvel digital users like yourself (and me ) drop in to get the latest news on digital comics from the "House of Ideas"

that marvel mania section seems to be where they move comics originally priced at face value when added to the app into the 1.99 range for the rest of its existence

to me that seems like the gateway marvel is using to discount their books.. instead of having a set time frame policy like DC's

so by definition for the most part those 1.99 marvel mania books are not on sale… if they where on sale the price would revert after it moved out of marvel mania… so its more of a discount clearing house where old stock is moved to to generate interest at a discounted price

Ultimate Spider-Man in general is pretty good – though the pacing is a bit slow – but issue #13 is my favorite issue included in the sale.
New and improved me. Now with a CAPITAL “B”.

Nextwave and Charlie Huston's Moon Knight on sale this Monday. I was expecting more Spider-man.

I blew my comics budget (for July) last week buying Amazing Spider-man and Brubaker's Catwoman in sales so will pass, as it is strictly my planned purchases from now on (unless there is a sale on something I REALLY want).

I have only heard good things about both of those series though.

Yeah, it's easy to get trapped in digital comics especially the 99 cent beast is a dirty one. It could add up quickly but you feel save because you have the idea that you get away very cheap with a once in a lifetime opportunity. Dangerous!
