Default CBR: LIVE: Marvel Mystery Call - Avenging Spiderman Monthly announced

They just anounced it over at Marvel.com.

Soundls like Astonishing Spider-man and The Avengers.

Isnt it enough he's in two Avengers titles though and the Avengers appear in his book. He's an Avenger. We get it.

But it's starting to sound like more of a Spiderman/Avengers team-up book.

"With Dan Slott nailing all the Peter Parker soap opera stuff in Amazing Spider-Man, we wanted to a book about Spider-Man as a super hero, out there in the Marvel Universe with the Avengers. This is the big super action movie of Spider-Man every month, with Joe Mad on art." -Zeb Wells

Eww. Joe Mad. As much as I like Zeb Wells they're really going to have to sell this to me.

Mad's always been one of my favorites, and the X-Men issue (Uncanny 346 I believe) where it's strictly a Spidey issue is one of my all time faves!

Who's been looking for a new Marvel Team-Up?
Every week, I write about the science in comic books and what it says about our real world!
Check it out, if you'd like!

Not me. However, I can live with this approach. I think I will give it a try.

See this is yet another book featuring the same characters that are already getting lots of focus. Red Hulk, Wolverine, Spiderwoman, Im wure there will be Cap, Iron Man and Thor.

This kid of book is the reason Im so bored of Marvel. No imagination. Rehashing the same old stuff month after month.

    Whats next the Fantastic Spider-man.

I love Zeb Wells, but I can't stand Madureira. I'm not sure about this.

    Default No offense

No offense, but this is hardly earth shattering the way Marvel was marketing the announcement.

so basically another avengers book with one of the already more popular characters getting more of the focus?

no offense but it's not really ground breaking

I just hope they get a better colorist for this than on Ultimates 3. Everything looked so damn muddy.

Awesome news. Zeb was one of the only BND writers I liked, and the return of a sattelite book is most welcome

That was the printer error, not the colorist.
Note that they reprinted the first issue with the correctly calibrated settings and it was much much better.

On topic: Looks like I'm buying a comic in November. Hope they release a pencils only version too.
