A hundred hoorays! Best news I've heard all week!
Now they're getting into the complete unknown for me.
Fantastic.![]()
I wonder how many of the books they're going to go through? Baum alone did 14 Oz books, but a little searching shows there's a little over 40 (!) 'canon' stories. I doubt they'd do nearly either of those amounts...but then again I wouldn't mind.
Yes! Finally, one of the stories that never gets retold!
Looking forward to seeing the Braided Man and all the strange underground creatures like the Mangaboos.
This is really awesome news.![]()
These things must sell pretty well in trade.

The adaptations so far have been fantastic, and have mesmerized my nieces. Bravo to hear that there will be a Book 4!
I might skip this one. It just isn't one of my favorites. Though, I am kind of curious how Young will draw the Gargoyles.

This is fantastic news! As predicted in the Oz Primer, Shanower is doing yet another book in Baum's series.
These books are just some of the best comics out there these days, with Skottie Young's art hitting the nail on the head in every panel, these issues are just amazing to look at and a pleasure to read.
Baby rplass, who is now 5yo (and a pretty good reader for a 5yo!), reads these comics all the time - introducing her to a world of comic book collecting, beautiful sequential art, classic literature and a love for imaginative storytelling which we can share together as a family.
Thanks so much to Marvel for going ahead with this project and we will definitely be getting all 8 issues!
I have to agree... I feel really bad for the people who missed out on the Oz books as a kid, or might feel too old to enjoy them now. It's really quite a world, and at first I thought that the idea of coming up with new Oz art was kind of blasphemy, but Young really knocks it out of the park. I hope they at least get through the Baum series...
