September 21st can't come fast enough.
wwouch.. (taking a look at the cover).. really gritty-nasty-naughty..
I'll grab this title for sure, see if I can pick some useful informations about the coke addiction of my sister ( she's a little younger than me and sometimes I worry for her)..and I like the incidential "Robin Hood" aspect of the first issue cover..

" Things are going to slide in all directions "
Leonard Cohen - The Future
I think he should have said "she steals things" a couple hundred more times...
So, basically, from the sound of this, there is absolutely nothing else that makes Selina who she is aside from stealing things. She steals! She steals things in Gotham!
I'll pass.
I'm concerned. There, I said it.
Winnick is just so inconsistent. His attempt to relaunch Titans was disastrous...not that having Ian "I can't maintain a monthly schedule" Churchill as your artist is going to help because clearly there were flaws editorially in this fail but his stories/characterization were just wrong.
I hope this is a better fit for him.
...can't wait for the for women prison stories..

...This doesn't sound to promsing. I love Catwoman but Gotham Sirens was my only fix on the girls teaming up now it's back to this..."Stealing things"! I'll pass thank you kind sir.
TEAM TEEN JEAN 2013!!
*2,000,000th X-Books Forum post goes to...Yours truly Vivica Kang*
Well, thanks for taking a break from those X-books forums to let us know you don't like other stuff.
I'm glad he's enthusiastic about the character and the assignment...but his answer on the continuity question was BS.
"I don't think I'm erasing much of anything. That said, Catwoman is still Selina Kyle and she still puts on this cat suit and she steals things. Beyond that, how she got here, what she's done before is less of a concern than the stories we are telling right now. But I don't think anyone is going to read, not just mine but any of the books, and truly feel like we're undoing everything."
The question isn't whether you're undoing "everything," it's whether you're changing more than the character's costume. If you're not "erasing much of anything," then Selina was a good guy and is now back to being a thief (in which case you have to explain the change, sooner or later). If she never was a good guy, then you ARE "earsing much of anything." You can't have it both ways.
I agree that he was definitely beating around the bush. But, I think thats the whole idea of this "Rejiggered" "Relaunch" "Revamp," but its not that other "Re"-word. I think thats a lot of whats drawing comic fans in to this to see WHAT they changed, because if its not everything - then what is it. Because as much as this whole "Relaunch" is going to be a jumping on point for all the new DC comic book fans, all the loyal DC fans are going to be driving as fast at they can to their LCS to see what these new, fresh titles are changing about their favorite characters. The characters we all grew up with. We're not going to be forgetting all the old continuity. We're not forgetting the prostitution origin, Holly, the Armless Master, her baby Helena, her heart being taken out by Hush, the Zatanna mind-swipe, her sister Maggie, etc. etc. So we wnat to see what's changed. I don't know, I guess we will see how this is all handled.
"I don't think anyone at DC has worked this hard on DC comics, ever. We've simply been given the marching orders to make the best comics of our entire lives. That's all, and nothing less. [Laughs] The truth is that we're hoping nothing less is coming out, that we're all delivering the goods. So be patient and keep in mind that nobody wants this to be good more than us. We're hoping that when the books are out in September you will be beyond satisfied, you'll be thrilled like we all are!"
I don't think as much as we're always forced to patient - that we want to wait. And as TickleFist said, September 21st cannot come faster.
There ya go...
