I have no interest in debating the merits of DC's animation vs. Marvel's animation. I don't see why that's worth arguing over. My point was that I sincerely believed that Marvel had more going for it with Avengers EMH and Ultimate Spider-Man. Young Justice is good, but I didn't think that would be enough with Green Lantern not generating much excitement. Now Ultimate Spider-Man has been underwhelming and the loss of Avengers EMH could really hurt that potential that I thought was there. It just seems as though Marvel has a very poor way of choosing successful cartoons. It cancelled Wolverine and the X-men, but brought back Iron Man and Super Hero Squad for a second season. They seem so excited about Ultimate Spider-Man, but Avengers EMH has an 8.2 on Metacritic right now. Ultimate Spider-Man only mustered a 6 out of 10 on IGN. Now I understand the desire to get all of Marvel animation under one roof. Marvel loves to control their characters and Disney seems to have given them the resources to do so. However, I don't agree with Jeph Loeb's approach. If Ultimate Spider-Man is a prelude of what we can expect from future Marvel animation, then I'm not very optimistic anymore. I think DC will still dominate with shows like Young Justice and DVDs like Justice League: Doom. I have nothing against DC animation, but I just think it's unfortunate that Marvel seems to be throwing away any show that seems to have potential.
