Honestly, the whole "Nick Fury on an invisible watch" thing telling Spider-Man to come to rendezvous point kind of made this seem like BatB-esque series. Not really my cup of tea. I miss Spectacular Spider-Man :'(

BatB? Rivaling the 90's series? Nuh-uh, no way in hell. I like it, but it's too Adam West-y for it to ever reach the level of the old Dini cartoons.

Have you watched the show? Brave and Bold has managed to be much more darker with superior pacing on the show, great voice casting from both sides and interesting storylines. What BTAS managed was sympathic introduction episodes for it's villains... That they then eventually just ruined with Two-Face becoming a gimmick mobster, then you got "I have a Batman in my closet" alike episodes and Killer Croc was totally ruined in favour for "i threw a rock at him!" Joke.
Brave and Bold is the best Batman cartoon thats been put out, it's quality pacing, jazz music and interesting showcase of a supporting cast that ranges from Aquaman to Blue Beetle, Captain Marvel, Catwoman and shows some heroes going from zero to A-starness such as the rookie of the show Blue Beetle who really became his own man.
Not to mention it has musicals! Batman Beyond only had 1 musical score and Kevin Conroy only sang once as Batman, now granted Diedrich Bader's Batman never sang, but it's had alot of great musical scores.

It might be non-Kitty Shroud. Also, this poster was done up back when Kitty-Shroud was first introduced and at the time there were no plans to revert her back to Kitty Pryde so for all we know Shroud isn't even in the series anymore at all. Notice how they don't even use that poster for promotional purposes anymore?
There's no way that's Moon Knight, that's 100% Shroud!
Anyone who doesn't like Miles Morales is a racist.
I do watch it regularly with my little brother. Less so recently, but I think I've seen the entire first season and most of the second.
Much more darker? I think it's a little contradictory to be saying that when you name "MUSICALS!" as a highlight. And I haven't seen a "dark" episode yet, they're all fairly bright and chromatic with few, if any, consequences for the characters. The only episode that comes to mind when I think of loss or death is the one with the Doom Patrol and even then it was too ridiculous for me to take seriously. Especially since the "onlookers of the world" consisted of about 10 people because of lazy animators. BTAM and BB (the latter especially) had some pretty gritty and fucked up shit compared to BatB.
Also, I don't think pacing necessarily applies to either cartoon as each episode is loosely connected to the previous one, more so in the case of BatB (which is intended to emulate the original Bob Kane comics). Unless you're talking in-episode pacing, in which case I have no idea what you're referring to.
While putting B-listers in the limelight is always nice, I don't think it's something that can be used to "rate" a show.
I like BatB, don't get me wrong. But it's not even in the same league as the Dini cartoons.

[QUOTE=Broseidon;13286452]I do watch it regularly with my little brother. Less so recently, but I think I've seen the entire first season and most of the second.
The show has shown much darker episodes than BTAS, what BTAS has instead shown is villains in a much more sadder and sympathic ways that make you feel sorry for them, but darker? Nah, Brave and Bold wins.Much more darker? I think it's a little contradictory to be saying that when you name "MUSICALS!" as a highlight.
Let's see:
- One of Batman's sensei gets murdered.
- Jokester was given a glasglow smile by Owlman
- Aquaman gets depressed in one episode when whale hunters murdered whales and he couldn't save the whales in time.
- One episode was so dark that Warner Brothers FORCED to rewrite the episode, this is the "Shadow of the Bat" episode that originally was suppose to end with Batman and the Justice League International dying, but they forced to rewrite the ending as a dream sequence.
- The show has shown guns shooting people directly, such as the Wayne family murders.
- Plastic Man's son is shown in danger, something the 90s cartoons we're banned from showing.
- The show has Batman blame himself for the death of his parents because he was a spoiled brat during christmas and his father wanted to make him feel better by going to the movie night, so Bruce feels if he hadn't been such a brat, his parents would live.
- PLATELEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET .
- Psycho Pirate was shown overjoyed when he was torturing innocent teenagers.
- Batman dies multiple dies by Emperor Joker's hand, these murders are as brutal as showing Batman's skeleton body in an acid tank.
- Batman dies from radiation on the OMAC episode, he sacrifised himself in order to save the planet but the villain is outraged by this "cop out" so he resurrects Batman.
- The Doom Patrol episode shows the original Silver Age conclusion which by no means is a happy ending at all.
- It deals with Bruce's and Selene's death as Damian accepts the cowl of Robin and becomes Dick-Batman's sidekick, oh and the show tributes Grant Morrison's villains sucha s Flamingo who eats peoples faces and Dr. Pyg who enslaves people. :p Tho yeah those we're tributes, its still funny for us adults who know this stuff.
- The very first episode deals with Slavery.
- Ted Kord's death is really heroic, but we see how the new Blue Beetle handles this whole legacy gig.
- Batman and Etrigan the Demon face Astaroth the demon who was powered by human souls that the villain who will be known as Gentleman Ghost was collecting.
Thats what i got on top of my head, i'm surely forgetting something but yeah the dark stuff the show does is pretty insane.
Can i get some examples please?had some pretty gritty and fucked up shit compared to BatB.
I'm referrring to the show's season, some episodes aren't as loosely connected when it comes to the character progression. You can really see the deveopment of Blue Beetle from zero to hero, alongside Batman, Aquaman and Green Arrow's friendship and crime fightning. Also, I don't think pacing necessarily applies to either cartoon as each episode is loosely connected to the previous one, more so in the case of BatB (which is intended to emulate the original Bob Kane comics). Unless you're talking in-episode pacing, in which case I have no idea what you're referring to.
I don't see why not, people constantly praise BTAS for showing villains that back then we're brand new for these people, since some people watched it due to the 89 Batman movie or we're kids watching a good saturday morning cartoon. While putting B-listers in the limelight is always nice, I don't think it's something that can be used to "rate" a show.
I know, it's over their leagues.I like BatB, don't get me wrong. But it's not even in the same league as the Dini cartoons.![]()

I actually share some of your feelings to a point. I'm more excited about the Avengers cartoon at the moment. It's been proceeding nicely and I've been hearing the creators talk a bit about season two. I'm really looking forward to what they do with it, even if it's not in the same continuity as Ultimate Spider-Man.
However, I'm holding out on my excitement until we get some official material. I hope that Marvel will offer a bit more than just some teasers at this years comic con in San Diego. They keep talking about how they're making this cartoon, but they haven't really produced anything for the masses that shows what the cartoon will be like. They didn't do that with Avengers or Wolverine and the X-men either. They waited for comic con to really get the excitement going. So I would wait until comic con before saying it's hard to get excited about. Once we know more and see more about this show, then we can start getting giddy about it.![]()
