Lol Right. Except Cap and Stark were natural leaders for two different sides.
Unlike Wolverine.
Still I am happy for an actual split.
Hmm, still next years event is about the X-men and FI is relevant. Well uncanny and new mutants are the only ones that tie-in. So I don't see what happening besides Colossus.
Orders must be lower than expected for this. They're getting pretty heavy-handed and desperate with the marketing.
meh, I'm getting less and less excited for this event. But since Jason Aaron is writing it I'll check it out.
You're superior to pryde in my eyes -tlp
Are you trying to fight me, teddy? I believe in gender equality, I will falcon punch you - Jan 'slacker' Brady
These teasers just show Cyclops-vs-Wolverine from different angles and artists. If they want to get people talking, there needs to be something more.
Dramatic paragraph on a dramatic page signed by Axel Alonso himself. Does seems odd.
This is going to matter. It'll matter next summer. We pwomise.
Great so "Next Summer" is when we should care, not this summer.
What is this, Horseville? Because I'm surrounded by naysayers.
Great so we got Civil War. Do we skip Secret Invasion? And go straight to X-men dark reign.
That's a pretty bold comparison. I really liked Civil War and how it built a much more complex conflict than the usual evil-force-shows-up-and-the-whole-world-must-ban-together-to-stop-it type plot. It pitted friend against friend and lover against lover. I like the idea of bringing that to the X-books because after Second Coming, the old structure just doesn't seem all that logical anymore. It made perfect sense for mutants to stand united when they were going extinct. They had to or else they weren't going to survive. It's a basic survival strategy you can find in most biology textbooks. But now they aren't going extinct. The incentives aren't there anymore. It was only a matter of time before factions started building. Kieron Gillen said it early on that Cyclops is a good war-time leader, but he's never been good at winning peace.
I'm also very curious as to that note about Schism ending around the same time as Fear Itself. I haven't heard anyone say anything about whether there's a connection between the events. It would really be something if someone Schism transpired at or around the same time as Fear Itself. I'm also interested in the aftermath. Earlier this year it was rumored that the divide between Wolverine and Cyclops would create separate teams. Magneto would be on Wolverine's team and Cyclops would be with Xavier. Not sure if that's where they're going with this, but I'm very interested in finding out!
As for the summer of 2012, I think all bets are off. I remember hearing at Wondercon (or maybe it was C2E2) that the editors were telling everybody to keep an eye on Hope. Could that mean the event next summer involves the Phoenix Force? If so, it's overdue and I hope it also means we'll find out that Bishop was right.![]()
