Another great X-POSITION. This one even went beyond the subject of the X-books, touching on Spider-Man and the Avengers cartoon. I've been a big fans of Chris Yost's writing since New Mutants and X-Force. It's a drag he and Craig Kyle aren't on an ongoing anymore. I assume being a writer for an animated show is a bit more demanding. But I've been very satisfied with what he's done with X-men First to Last. The Evolutionaries are a compelling new enemy. They're part Celestials and part Apocalypse. Yet they don't have that insane tyranny or bland indifference. They actually have some personality to them. It's a different kind of threat and one that isn't resolved by over-the-top fight scenes. So I'm interested in seeing what comes of it. I hope once it's over that Chris Yost will find time to write another X-book. I would love it if he took over the main X-men series from Victor Gischler. Not that I have any problems with Gischler, but I think Yost has a better feel for the X-men. He's worked on cartoons and comics. But if Avengers EMH requires most of his attention, I'm okay with that.

So Yost just confirmed that Dazzler is attempting to steal another man from Rogue, just after she stole Angel from Psylocke in AoX. Consistent. Jokes on you, Dazzler. AGAIN.

Anyway, these Evolutionaries seem silly. Why doesn't Xavier just phone Sersi? She can kick these jerks back to the stone age and then throw everyone a party! I'd love it if she took Exodus back to her apartment and kept him as a rentboy.

I like Yost but, as someone who never read any of the original age of apocalypse stuff, I was rather confused by the latest issue. I recognize that basically the xmen crossed over into some parallel universe where apocalypse had "won" and were trying to save Angel, but that was about the extent of my understanding.
