The Stephanie Brown 'Batgirl' Appreciation Thread

I have to confess when this book first started I was peeved at the way Miller passed the Batgirl down to Steph. I still stuck around and boy was I glad I did. Sure there was some road bumps (the Calculator arc), but there are just so many fun things this book had going for it. The night of Draculas and of course any Steph/Damian interaction was always top notch. It's a shame DC once again pulls this stupid nonsense that doomed Cass in her first stint and ongoing as Batgirl to begin with. Now it's all deju vu again. Here's hoping Steph doesn't continue that trend and become some stupid one dimensional villain. Instead actually having an actual role in the DCU.

the charecter is really summed up with a line from the clayface issue

"i got a utility belt full of crap and a positive out look."

Stephanie Brown is the Rocky Balboa of the DCU. Despite some hard knocks and setbacks, she went the distance to become one of the most acclaimed comic book characters in recent years.

That was great. Thank you for putting it together.

Also, Thank you Brian Miller for two years of consistently great stories.

Month after month this book was one of my favorite reads. It always seemed to make it to the top of the pile to be one of the first books I read after getting home from the shop. Ms. Brown, you'll be missed.

We had 2 Batmen for awhile...would you lot be happy if Steph remained Batgirl in addition to Barbara? Or what if she kept the costume and took on another name like Knightstrike or Nightshadow or something? Would you guys support her if she got a Spoiler ongoing?

I gotta admit, I never gave this book a chance, but this thread is making me think that I should take another look.

I second that. I'd prefer Steph to stay as Batgirl, but at this point I'd rather her play a prominent role as Spoiler somewhere rather then just getting lost in the shuffle.

I will happily support a Steph ongoing. Especially if it's written by Miller.
