So I've been ranting about how DC Comics has turned the Justice League of America to the Social Justice League of America with their reboot. It pisses me off that they are replacing Martian Manhunter with Cyborg. It's not that Cyborg is black (I say this because this is the first thing people think, "He' hates African-Americans, he's a racist"). I'm pissed because the Martian Manhunter is my favorite DC character and he's getting the shaft to bring diversity (which I have no problem with the diversity part) to the JLA. I understand the JLA is pretty vanilla, but come on, CYBORG?

Anyway, I bring this up because I started a post about political correctness and DC and they deleted it. I swear, it's like the boards are being run by Kim Jong-Il or something. I wasn't disrespectful to anyone or graphic or anything. I was just stating my displeasure that Geoffry Johns would replace MM with Cyborg when A) MM is awesome and deserves to still be a JLA founder and B) there are several African-American characters that deserve to be on the team waaaay ahead of Cyborg. That is all.

It's perfectly reasonable to signal your displeasure that your favorite character isn't going to be on the team.

But you might want to consider using less inflammatory language to do so.

And also consider that your big complaint is that Cyborg will be on the team instead of the Martian Manhunter. I can't imagine this is an "instead of" situation (who knows, I'm frequently wrong), so it seems a bit odd to say "how come that guy's on the team instead of my favorite".

Especially when picking out the black guy, and shouting the odds about political correctness and social justice.

Especially when the term "social justice" has been recently used by right wing commentators as part of a racist attack on American progressives.

The full roster includes more than just the people on the cover, so it's entirely possible that J'onn is on the team.

Technically, he's not replacing J'onn at all, since he's not a member of the current team. Really, he's replacing either Congorilla or Starman.
