I picked up the Spider-Man Big Time Premiere HC for $8.

Just got Essential 10. Starts weak stories. Not sure how essential it was, but it did have the beginnings of the Stern era and that juggernaut story. I actually quit amazing around 210 or so and became a Peter Parker reader exclusively for about twenty issues--PPtSM was just a better book in that era.

Whether some of the stories of whatever time peroid are winners or stinkers, the Essential Spider-Man program will unquestionably reprint ALL issues of Amazing Spider-Man, in chronological order.
