I loved that character. Mostly because he is one of the few, outside of Frankenstein, of Dracula's minions that I find sympathetic as you can see how he is struggling with the inner wolf inside him but obviously he is in a losing battle. Much like how David from American Werewolf in London went through.

That at least had the decency to recognize the ridiculousness of itspremise and intentionally be a comedy.
...And does Mr. Goddanm Batman says so much as ''Thanks''? OF COURSE not. That'd hardly be GRIM AND GRITTY, would it?

Always considered the show like Buffy. Except the main character is a male and he is a werewolf, with more comedy

I just recently saw the Wolfman (the Benicio Del Toro version) and while the movie was nothing spectacular, I liked the way they struck a balance between the traditional stands upright on two legs wolfman and the four legged wolf. I liked that he could transition from standing upright to running on all fours for speed and maneuverability. That was a nicely designed wolfman. Well done Rick Baker.

Well, that's just people trying to go back to the folk lore and superstition of it. Originally, werewolves were men who became actual wolves, not wolf-like monster men. Of course, those versions of the werewolf usually became them by their own choice, by putting on an enchanted wolf-skin cloak or belt or some other thing that they usually got from dealing with a witch or devil.

The change to the "wolf-men" sort probably stems from not wanting Jack Pierce's skills to go unused on The Wolf Man. In those old movies, make-up was the special effect.

Dracula, Frankenstein and the Wolf Man were the only ones whose traditional drama and character was on display in that movie. The Mummy was there without the tragic love story. The Gill-Man was there but without any scientists to poke and prod at him and no woman for him to be infatuated with. The Mummy and Gill-Man were just cannon fodder in that one.

Huh? Original Being Human vampires are some of the least scary vampires I've ever seen..and I say this having seen the Twilight films.

I just hope he doesn't turn into a big wolf.

Or a four legged dog wolf like the ones from True Blood.

I just mainly hope they wont get too serious about it. I mean the original movie had some dramatic stuff but it was basically about Scott actually enjoying his new werewolf lifestyle because it basically improved his life in high school when compared to how he coped with being in high school before he became a werewolf. The movie was basically tossing out any horror cliches you know about werewolves and introduced a interesting concept about Werewolves being like regular people. Most importantly the movie doesn't take itself too seriously. As long as they stick with that concept and dont make them too werewolf then I might give the series a shot

I don't see them adding much humour into this vehicule. They have a young werewolf at school and it's called Teen Wolf but it has nothing to do with the Michael J. Fox flick. I wish they would have done it this way(yet add some real moments because Teen Wolf was not just a comedy) but it's not happening. Meanwhile I just hope it's not gonna be something too CW-style teeny girl show and have some juicy horror elements.

But how exciting a Werewolf by Night would have been, though? You do it like the Hulk tv show with Jack Russell being a drifter running from his curse and someone running after him to kill him.

I hope they dont turn it into a teen girl CW type of show also but this is MTV we are talking about. Still yeah I agree that the original Teen Wolf, while it did have some comedy elements, has some degree of drama within the film also. Like the conversation Scott and his father had about the dangers of turning into a werewolf out of anger and we witness it first hand.

I would like a Werewolf by Night to be a cross between the Hulk tv show mixed with some horror elements of Supernatural.

So wait...the shambling zombies who rise from the grave and feed on the living have no antecedents in legend? Surely Romero didn't create all of that?

Anyway, I would LOVE to see Michael J. Fox involved with this in some way.
