It's not the fact that she didn't want to kill millions. It's the very fact that she didn't know of this plan in the first place.

It's even worse since she apparently suspected that this was their plan, but didn't do anything about it. A poor call. And not her only one.
And Echo has more personal reasons for thinking she's unbalanced and not a good choice for following.
I was given the impression she didn't know about the whole leyline and super duper nuke thing until Theia knew about it, although I can be wrong.

I mean, she knew it was something she didn't really like , and she didn't ask questions because she lost her taste for it...

But that's sorta like saying you're going to get some food, and I know your broke, and then I decide not to worry too much because I know you, but you killed a whole neighborhood.

I'm probably off, but given her reaction upon finding out the plan, I can't think she knew exactly what the plan was, especially given you specifically didn't want to know.

It was pretty much alot worse than she thought by several magnitudes.

And no one really seemed to give their exact reason for wanting her fired, aside from "Okay, you definately suck." after she goes "Millions of people dead..didn't like."

Also, I'd think some people would understand how she reacted to all this stuff, seeing as many of them are warriors, *and* human.

    Your point is acknowledged.

BET SHE DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING.

Now, a word from SHR2's own Deity, Drake Vargas, on this matter.

Vargas: "Eh, using leylines for blowing up stuff is cool and all, but I would have personally turned the planet into a giant gun myself."

Drake and Ramza would have teamed up, and Ramza would have railgunned Drakes planet gun at the problem, which then fires the planet beam.

We might not have a universe, but there would be no Xiroc.

Well...what did she think it was? That is the question.

And no one really seemed to give their exact reason for wanting her fired, aside from "Okay, you definately suck." after she goes "Millions of people dead..didn't like."
Actually, the real reaction of multiple people here were more along the lines of a) The fact that she was incompetent and more importantly b) The fact that she may not have been telling the truth, or even if she was, it was an extremely biased version of what happened.

In any case, multiple people wanted to find out the truth for themselves.

Plus, Fate has a bad habit of throwing people in to battles and hoping they'll all come out alright. That didn't win her any favors either.

And other minor screw ups that I'm probably forgetting.

Also, I'd think some people would understand how she reacted to all this stuff, seeing as many of them are warriors, *and* human.
Drakes reaction certainly makes sense. But so do many others.

Well, Drake doesn't exactly know how everyone else woke up to begin with, and he actually found it really weird that everyone *hasn't* been awake until now.

He did surmise that it requires some sorta life/death thing, but he found it really weird that the Alaphiam just woke up, given he's been running around with powers for some time, and his patron has been up and running (heheh) for awhile now.

And nothings wrong with not believing her, but it's a bit different than going "Okay, cool story, you're fired" the same instant after finding out the story about how she could have killed the Xiroc and didn't...because it involved killing millions.

I atleast got that impression from several of the posts, but I will admit I might have glanced some posts.

It sort of seems like she was getting credited with incompetence because she wasn't ruthless enough, as opposed to having a lapse of judgment after continuously fighting and dying against an alien menace...Which, well, even on that, Drake wouldn't be entirely unsympathetic to.

Mind you, everyone has their own perspective, but to Drake, it looks like she explained that, and everyone lost their shit about it, and then started trying to become the new alpha-alaphim when they just went through god puberty five minutes ago.

Drake is a pure human, and he technically has more of a feel for this than they do, so he's hardly encouraged by their actions, never mind the rep most gods hold, yet you'd think everyone here didn't just get 99% of their knowledge from the chick they're trying to replace.

Mind, I can see how Drake would come to that conclusion. It may very well have sounded like:

Fate: So I let Theia go ahead with her plan, but when I found out it involved random mass-murder on the muggles, I had to put my foot down and tell her I wasn't cool with that.

Various Alaphim: Whoa, hold it there! You are obviously not leader material, little lady!
Quoting this again because it makes me lol.

What does it say about me, if every time I read the Codex sub-title, I read "Trolling The Darkness"?

If I ever have Asmodeus speak to Raph in an actual conversation he will speak like a normal guy.

He will even be approachable, none of that "You puny mortal" stuff. He will be so nice you could forget he is evil.

Sucks to be Raph if he does.

I figured Hermes should speak with class since he's also a god of eloquence. And I also wanted to be different.

Kris is actually pretty understanding about Fate messing up the Ley Line business. As people have noted, there are a lot of reasons why she didn't see the issue coming and acted the way she did.

It's the rest of how this has been handled that really makes her teeth itch.
