I was going to get this regardless and while a part of me hopes if this sales well that DC would change their mind and go back to putting out a actual series but another part of me fells like I'd just get let down again like I normally do by a DC decision

So were not getting a Static Book at all?

    I am extremely disappointed.

Can he get back on the teen titans or can dc make another teen team book with him and others (SG, MM, etc) on it?

I'm gonna say no. I'm not convinced DC is genuinely interested in telling stories with the character, even with all of the mess they went through. I highly doubt it's that difficult to get someone who wants to write the character.

Then again, another team book may be why DC decided not to go with the planned ongoing. Hopefully whatever they choose doesn't lead to the death of a few more teen heroes.

DC didn't sort out the tribute/proceeds aspect of this? Hrm.

Well, it's got Rozum and Cowan and Prentis Rollins involved.....

I sadly have to agree. Although johns supposedly likes him since he did push for him on his Titans run. So hopefully they do something like another teen book. And dont go another teen killing spree.

I would have liked to have seen Priest or Hudlin contribute to this as well...but at least Henderson got the tribute project off the ground.

Frankly seeing as DC nor the DC universe creative teams are talk about whats coming post Flashpoint. It is still possible to have an ongoing Static book.

It would have been ludicrous to have launched a book only to have it rebooted or whatever is going to happen after 3 issues.

Can we please get a static series. I'm sure it will at least reach the 25 issue mark, hopefully much longer though.

DC needs something new and fast.

I'm getting Powergirl and Dick Grayson related titles. So if PG gets cancelled and Dick Grayson stops appearing in 4 books my DC subscriptions are going to seriously drop here.

"A few weeks later, DC invited me to write the main story in a tribute book that would be drawn by Denys. Of course, I said yes."

    wait wait wait...

"This June, Felicia Henderson, Denys Cowan, Prentis Rollings, Eric Battle, John Rozum, Matt Wayne, John Paul Leon and others will contribute to a STATIC SHOCK Special, with a cover by JH Williams III.

This Special is our way of acknowledging the industry’s loss. It is not a tribute comic intended to raise proceeds for charity.

We regret if there was any confusion regarding our intentions caused by the solicitation of this project."

So people are still calling it a tribute book, when it is actually just a "profit off the immediate interest in a dead creator who DC very publicly mistreated and disrespected" book.

    Not classy.

Tribute has many different meanings, just because DC is not giving the proceeds to the family (which would be nice but they probably would not be very much) does not make this not a tribute book.

And how did DC publicly disrespect or mistreat? Sure he did not perfect creative control some titles he wrote for DC but all writers go through that. If McDuffie had truly felt that he had gotten screwed over for his entire tenure at DC he would not have stayed and contributed to DC animation and comics so much.

DC Animation and DC Comics are really not the same. Mostly because WB actually cares about one. Point being Comics hated him and Animation loved him.

QFT. Notice that after he got screwed over in his JLA series, he never wrote another actual comic since than, and stuck entirely with animation, it's because in animation he was given the freedom that comics couldn't allow.
