CBR: "Dark Knight" Viral Game Reveals Hardy's Bane

To coincide with the start of principal photography in Christopher's Nolan's anticipated Batman film "The Dark Knight Rises," Warner Bros. has launched a viral game whose first prize is an image of actor Tom Hardy as Bane.

I like it. Better than the previous Bane. It looks like it's some sort of gas mask. There is definitely a tube that goes from the back to the front. There also appears to be some scars on his back and on his head. I wonder if Venom is going to be a derivative of the Scarecrow's fear gas? Will the movies version of Venom be used the same way as in the comics? Is this pre-Venom Bane? I've heard rumors that Bane was scarred in a fire and can feel no pain. Is the mask used to help his damaged lungs? So the big question is: Is the mask for his breathing or is it going to be used to administer Venom?

Nice tease of Bane. Looking forward to a better shot but def a great tease. Already better than Bane from Batman and Robin. The mask reminds me a bit of Sub Zero and Scorpion. Think it looks good so far.

From what I can see it looks good. I wasn't expecting a full lucha mask, that might look to silly for most people.

cmon...besides since he is Hispanic it would sorta tie in into his roots, although hes from a carribean island not mexico, but still

this new version just doesnt fit, i actually think looks more like something a scarecrow henchman might wear having a horror theme and protecting him from the fear gas

i think Nolan is just using this to allow Hardy to have some face time in the film since supposedly Nolan is very high on him right now

actually, given Batman's armor set up, this seems to fit the world rather well. from what little I can see of it.

Lucha mask would work, but I guess they're going with it's a more integrated part of his Venom delivery system. Which seems to be the general path of the Nolan movies -- why explain multiple things, when you can shove them all together into one package? Which isn't a bad idea necessarily, either. Often a good idea, really.

And just so we don't have to keep flipping back to another page...



The other thing, unlike the traditional Bane mask, it opens up the eyes, allowing for more acting. Although it kind of reminds me a bit of Vader's wrestling mask.

He looks quite small. Hopefully the venom makes him look bigger and more menacing. Without being fake looking. Dang, high expectations for this after Dark Knight.
