Default CBR: Spencer Takes "T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents" From Past To Future

It's funny how he only used Marvel references. Exclusive, indeed.

Great article, though, he seems really passionate about what he does.

Despite the Marvel deal, it doesn't sound like he's off T.H.U.N.D.E.R. just yet, which is good.

I *LOVE* this title. It is criminally under-read.

I love this book. I'm so happy he's not leaving.

Yeah, that felt weird for an article about a DC book.

Spencer is allowed to write T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents under his Marvel exclusive as long as he wants or until it ends.

If I'm DC, I keep publishing it regardless of sales until his exclusive is done and then try to sign him to a DC exclusive!

I know, in fact I think the whole exclusivity thing is kind of silly. Let a writer decide what he or she wants to write, so long as either company is willing to publish it.

I hope Spencer drops the exclusivity deal, I hope to see him write JLA one day!

Huh, so Len Brown (Dynamo) and Iron Maiden hooked up and had a kid, who is now grown up and part of THUNDER and going after her mom.

In Solson's one THUNDER comic, they postulated that Dynamo and Iron Maiden married and had kids, tho the IM was dead and Len Brown retired.

    What a great interview!

The Marvel references didn't bother me, if anything I enjoyed the fact that a writer could appreciate both companies and talk about them interchangeably.

I also feel he pays respect to DC with Mike Grell and overall his take on a classic DC title.

I hope the title gains steam and sells well, would hate for Spencer to have to wrap up this story before he is ready.

You sure you got that completely right?

I ask because, I had thought that this was just for the first 10 or 12 issues of THUNDER, and not 'as long as he wants to'.

That was my recollection of what I read.

Not what he said at C2E2. He's on the book for as long as he wants.

Really glad he is sticking with the book, one of the best DC is putting out.

I had a lot of trepidation about this book, but seriously, Nick Spenser has blown me away. I love the fact that he refers back to the original agents, rather than discarding their history and their stories... and I'm super-chuffed he's managed not to have any crossovers with other DC titles, or even really any indication that it's actually set in the DCU.
Plus, the absolute cavalcade of guest creators who've shown why they've still go it in spades, from Howard Chaykin to George Perez to this issue's Mike Grell... gorgeous work, none of which diminishes from the great stuff Cafu has been doing on the main story.

Definitely picking the trade up when DC releases it and I'm hoping, if it can keep to this standard, that it sticks around for a long while yet.
