Which is, I think, a mistake. If you buy a sub-par Power Girl, a sub-par Power Girl is all they'll ever give you. I love PG as much as anyone, but I dropped Worlds' Finest because I think she (and Helena) deserve a better book, and my dollar is the only vote I have to tell DC they should try harder.
Be a fan of the creators, not the characters.

Now that the initial arc is over, plus the filler issue, I have hopes things will pick up. This week's issue should be an indicator of how things will go. And it's the first issue where the wider DCnu universe really comes into the book, which should be good.

    What I want to see:

A real raison d'être for this book. Not the "Kara wants to go home, but Helena doesn't care" thing, but rather a niche for the ladies that matters on a larger scale. Right now, the only person who cares if they go home or not is Kara, for reasons even she hasn't articulated. Well and good, perhaps she will, but there doesn't seem to be a pressing need for them to go home.

The soon to be JSA seems to have things covered---better than the Trinity plus the ladies ever did. And every one they knew back there is dead anyway. Now if they would make some sort of difference back on Earth 2, fine, I'd like to see soon what that is. But in the meantime, they need another reason to have a title set where it's set, and I'd like to see that.

Also: Bigger villains. I don't mean in terms of size---I could care less if they ever face another Godzilla size foe. But I want bad guys who matter. Name villains.

If I buy a sub-par Powergirl I get a comic with a sub-par Powergirl that might improve at some time in the future when a better writer takes over. If I don't buy it because it's sub-par, and others do the same, DC will say it means that Powergirl doesn't sell. Or they'll say it means comics with female leads don't sell. What they won't do is say they put out a mediocre product and that's why it didn't sell.

Vote with your dollar, we all do, but don't assume the seller will understand the meaning of your vote beyond the fact they didn't get the sale.

Quick question, would you rather have a PG mini by (written and drawn). . .

    Cooke:

    or

    Timm:

I'd take Timm. His women are more attractive and he's better at comedy. Cooke is really good at both too, but Timm excels at that stuff.

    Completely agree.
When Timm is on his game he's easily one of the best in the business.
    I also think he'd have a lot of fun with PG. . . ;-)

How about one from each? I'm not greedy...

I'd kind of like to see a Cooke 50's era Power Girl story, and a Timm PG story set in the present would be great too.

I'd like to see a Justice Society one shot drawn by Cooke, which would be fantastic.Sort of prequel to Final Frontier. And of course prominately featuring Power girl.

That's probably my favorite image of PG in Worlds' Finest. Either that or the splash page from the zero issue where she is in the Supergirl outfit and saves Helena while in mid-air. Kevin Maguire totally gets how to draw Power Girl.

    Aye, that image is great.
It's easily my favorite splash from the series.
Funny enough, I saw it listed on eBay a couple weeks back (KM sells some of his original art directly to fans.)
    It sold for over $1000!

Original art from a name artist apparently costs. But that doesn't seem out of line AFAIK.
