Does this use of Thomas Wayne as Batman remind anyone of Owlman from JLA:Earth 2?

I love how few f***s Azzarello gives about shared universe stuff. Continuity? Dumb. Justice League membership? Retarded. Flash? Don't care.
This will be amazing. 100 Bullets team is always perfection.
Am I the only one who just isn't interested in Flashpoint at all? I don't really follow most events anyway but this one especially holds zero interest to me, so much so that I haven't even bothered to find out what the premise is.
The idea of a hero owning the casinos that all the criminals frequent, is such a good idea that I almost wish it wasn't wasted on Batman and Flashpoint.
Still, I look forward to reading Azzarello on "Batman" again.
...And does Mr. Goddanm Batman says so much as ''Thanks''? OF COURSE not. That'd hardly be GRIM AND GRITTY, would it?
The jerk...

This sounds excellent. I have high hopes.
If the prospect of exploring a whole separate world within the DCU multiverse doesn't exist you, then I get it, otherwise, it's extremely exciting.
I'm buying it all and super pumped.
I guess I'm just burnt out on events to the point where I don't even care what its about. If I wanted an exploration of a separate reality though, which I do enjoy, I'd rather it be a self contained Elseworld story rather than a sprawling event with way too many tie ins.
I normally hate events. Didn't go for ANY of the recent ones. I'm a continuity guy. Was totally brushing this one off as well but decided to get Flashpoint #1 after hearing some hype about the big Batman reveal at the end. Oh and I'm not really a Flash guy either - could take or leave him.
I have to say that I'm not disappointed. It's got really good art, a fun overall storyline, and with the guarantee of only 5 issues for the main event with the final solicited for August 31 - I'm totally on board. You can tell that the spinoffs may or may not be fun but they seem to be committed to keeping the story within the 5 main issues so you don't HAVE to purchase any of the outside stuff.
That being said, I'm SO psyched for the Batman mini with this team. I LOVED LOVED LOVED "Joker" and I can't wait to see what Azzarello does with this truly dark take on the Dark Knight.
