I've seen him in some different things and I think he ranges between decent and good when he's doing comedy but when he tries serious roles he comes off as either stiff or just not believable. I don't hate him but he does get mis-cast a lot.

I thought he was one of the few bright spots in the original G.I. Joe movie, he was great in 21 Jump Street, and was good in Magic Mike and Public Enemies. For whatever reason, it's just fashionable to bash him now.
I don't think it's a "fashionable" thing, it seems an objective thing as he's just not that great of an actor. He's decent in comedies, but when you make him the leading man he's very wooden.
But really, he was good in public enemies? He was a blink and you miss it cameo.
It's completely fashionable right now to the point of dog-piling.
i have nothing for or against channing Tatum...he's just there. i do agree that he's miscast as a action hero.
Okay, before this thread this is what I knew about Tish, zip, zero, nada.
I now know that Tish is a heavily armed, black, bi-sexual, truck driving woman who likes going to the clubs.
I don't think I learned this much about Tom in six months let alone one post. - Boldido
I'm begining to like Tish more and more, that's what I know. - cable guy

I don't get the appeal of him coming from 21 Jump Street. It was a terrible movie and he was just...there in it. I was not blown away by him in the least in that movie. If some people find ways to hate some celebrity, I think sometime people are trying too hard to find ways to like some stars for whatever reasons. I call it the John Cena factor. Tatum is like the Cena of movies. No real talent but girls are falling for these guys and some guys don't want to be left out of the party so they somehow find stuff of them they admire.

Strange how excited I was to see this and ever since they put it on hiatus, I have no desire to see it now. It's like the buzz is gone.

I genuinely enjoyed 21 Jump Street...I thought it was funny and the only decent comedy that came out this year IMO and its only the third movie Ive seen Tatum in
and his star is rising so I wasn't surprised when they went back and made changes to allow for a possible return in later films

I wouldn't say his star is rising. He's been in more bombs than hits. But when Hollywood decides they're gonna shove someone down people's throat, watch out, you see him everywhere. The guy has zero talent, he has the same face expression in every movie.
