I really didn't like his Oracle one-shot, but I'm confident Andreyko will kick ass on this!
I'm not a huge fan of fill-in stories, but I love Andreyko & Kate Spencer so I really don't mind it this time. Hell, his Manhunter back-ups were the only reason I was buying Batman: Streets of Gotham. Zinda's one of my favorite underutilized characters, so her being spotlighted is also a plus. I am a little bit disappointed that this won't be a Andreyko/Saiz reunion, but you can't have everything, right?

I like the sound of this, though I am disappointed that I was wrong in my initial impression from the title of the article that it would a timetravel story with the Birds sent back to WW2, as I think that would be a lot of fun and a spotlight story if Zinda as the one they have to follow to get through it.
"Batman is this force that appears out of nowhere behind a guy or all the sudden comes through the window like a man-sized brick and the note attached is a serious ass-whooping"
Interesting that they're using the blue and red version of the Phantom Lady's costume. Previoualy they use the yellow and green. The public domain "Phantom Lady" has the blue and red costume.
Also I'm glad the story is set in the early 50. Most writers forget the Black Canary was a post WWII creation.
Zinda as Cap is inspired and true! Even down to being propaganda pieces.
"He told me" regarding a fictional character doesn't set right with me, but I understand and agree with the spirit of it, if not the phrasing.
Billy Tucci did a great job drawing (and wrting) the Sgt Rock Lost Battalion arc, so I'm looking forward to see what this Birds of Prey story has to offer. With all the Captain America WWII stories coming out this year, its nice to see DC contribute that genre.
Yeah, but whether sits right or not, this isn't the first time I've seen a professional writer say that about a character; it's almost a cliche at this point. e.g. just finished reading the Lucifer series in trades and Mike Carey notes that in the afterword about his titular character.
I was kinda confused about what the circumstancial evidence of Ramsey being gay was meant to be. Did he mean how he'd written the character before, or just the situation he put the older Ramsey in in the final Manhunter in?
"Batman is this force that appears out of nowhere behind a guy or all the sudden comes through the window like a man-sized brick and the note attached is a serious ass-whooping"
I think he was referring to how he wrote Ramsey up until that point.
I have to say, as a fan of WWII arcs, Phantom Lady (all incarnations, but I think Sandra is possibly the most interesting) and of Kate Spencer this 2 parter just sounds like it was made for me (I just hope Andreyco gives Huntress enough panel time!)
I'm really looking forward to this.
Cheers.
James.
Any Dream worth Having Is A Dream worth Fighting For.
Two fill-in issues now?
Yeah, I'm definitely done.
Fill in issues are only bad when they're substandard. I don't expect that to be the case here.

Oh, I'm sure you're probably right, Jim. I'm especially curious about the Tucci artwork.
Unfortunately, IMO, this is the last thing this book needed right now.
