Wearing white, Babs? Somewhere, Jason Bard is snickering.

But I'd think most people would consider her the most famous Batgirl. She's been on all the Batman TV shows ever produced, and she's the Batgirl who gets the most merchandise (statues, figures, dolls, shirt, etc) produced, by a wide margin. So, I'd definitely say she's the most popular version of Batgirl.
I was 14 when Supergirl died; 16 when the Killing Joke came out; both were extremely upsetting; in two years I lost the greatest female heroes. For a couple of years anyways. I had to make do with Saturn Girl and Duo Damsel (she had promise, a hot looking girl that could split in two married to a fat guy...)

For me the most definitive Batgirl tale is actually an Elseworld story, none other than the incredible Thrillkiller: Batgirl & Robin

I compare all other interpretations of Barbara Gordon by this book, it's my ultimate canon of my favorite version of the character.
    Pull list:
Adventure Time, Batgirl, Batman & Robin, BOP, Earth 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, He-Man, Katana, Nightwing, Shadowman, Swamp Thing, The Ultimates, Ultimate Spider-Man, Worlds' Finest

Wasn't Thrillkiller supposedly a really, really quirky book, that us traditionalists may have a hard time getting into? I'm pretty sure I've read that...

Either way, I haven't read the story, but I don't like the outfit. It sends the wrong message, IMHO.

I heard dressing yourself in leather from head to toe and carrying ropes and other means of binding people is how you send the right message

I heard Babs has a crush on Bruce in the story, is that true? Because that's enough to keep me from reading it.

    The art is spectacular, though.

Thrillkiller is a fun book with amazing art. Babs does have a fling with Bruce and dates Dick. The characters are written very differently then regular continuity. Def worth picking up if you can find it.

Barbara Gordon is one of my favorite characters. I liked her Oracle, but I loved her as Batgirl. I'm really happy DC has her walking again and gave her an ongoing.
Here's to hoping for a long run:

On a side note, I hope Batgirl does get a job soon. Preferably as a librarian

Default Appreciation thread: Barbara Gordon in 3rd ongoing title!

    BATMAN BEYOND UNLIMITED

Barbara Gordon now has her own starring comic with the new Batgirl comic, is part of a team for the first time as Batgirl with the Birds Of Prey, and now as of 02/12 is an occasional support character in Batman Beyond Unlimited as the Commissioner of the GCPD in future New Gotham. Batgirl has come a LONG way from her days of being a guest-star in Batman titles and also back-up stories in Batman books in the 60's/early 70's! Not to mention when she now gets to guest as Batgirl in other titles in addition to the essentiall 2 1/2 titles she'll be in now. I can't believe this ABUNDANCE of riches for Bab's-Batgirl fans who were left in the cold for over two decades (minus a pittance of appearances that also gave us the great Thrillkiller in that time).

Having recently learned there is a Batman Beyond Commissioner Barbara Gordon action figure out there, I've gotta find it to add to my Batgirl collection!

Cool. I really like the Batgirl book, it's one of my favs.

I had to get Batgirl. I have too many male-dominated books and I needed a fresh female-lead to quell the storm of manliness I read. People said Batwoman was better, but I like Babs, so there wasn't much contest.

I was wondering what Birds of Prey was. So it's like a female-dominated super team or something, eh?
