Well I am happy to hear that. Here's hoping. Benes is a good artist; I just hate things like that cover up above on the previous page.

How many more issues do we think before Batgirl has her final showdown with Joker? Gail said a while back it would happen eventually and I would hope and expect that once Batgirl finally clobbers Joker into the dirt that she can firmly put all the TKJ stuff that was originally from over 3 continuities ago behind her. While I understand from a literary standpoint in this reality (but also because of Gail's writing of her in her different incarnation as the older Oracle for so many years and not wanting to let that legacy completely go) why Batgirl had to work through this, I would have preferred a complete reboot w/no TKJ ever having happened.

Once this eventual showdown does come I hope for the title that Batgirl can pretty much firmly shut this particular door and just move forward everafter, as Batgirl is just too awesome to keep letting this event make her all bummed and uncertain all the time. I want Batgirl to be consistently confident again and a true terror to Gotham's underworld.

When Gail says something will eventually happen, more often than not she's talking about something years into the future.
'The marquis. Well, you know, to be honest, he seems a little bit dodgy to me.'
'Mm,' she agreed. 'He's a little bit dodgy in the same way that rats are a little bit covered in fur."

When I read they were changing the artist on 52 Babs I, for just a second, got pissed for the possibility they would **** it up. I realized this was nerd rage which in turn prompted me to realize I am a batgirl fanboy. I have never been a fanboy before. I've always kept it my nerdly passions in check, but I guess I love this comic book too much for that.
I hope they don't retcon Barbra's shooting too much. I always liked the random gratuitous nature of it. I'm not being crass, it's just how things happens in real life. That kind of act is often meaningless, and devoid of any deeper truth. Ask any one who has seen it up close, and they will tell you there can be no proper explanation for such violence.
The only place I have seen Benes art is DC 10, and I was less than impressed. He looks like a self taught artist, and his work looks OK at first blush, but if you look close you notice tons technical problems with anatomy; like peoples arms come out of their shoulder at impossible angles, the musculature is all screwy, and the hands are hit and miss. What's worse is his perspective lines are a mess, and even worse than THAT is his foreshortening which is just... just so godawful.

You really think that they're going to do a final showdown? Because the only way that would happen would involve one of them dying, and we know DC isn't going to kill Joker. Anyway, I can't see Babs facing Joker anytime soon, she's still massively unprepared for a fight with any of Batman's Rogues Gallery. Until she returns to full force Batgirl with both her brains and brawns, she doesn't have a chance.

My favorite Babs/Batgirl cover of all time. Adams drew some hot ladies back then. Love those Julie Newmar curves.

I've also been buying a lot of Scott Dalrymple original art lately as well. This is the most recent.

Yet it is oddly too large, it reminds me of Power Girl's old "window".

That picture actually kind of disturbs me...I mean that's her father's desk...why is she posing like that for her father?
