And yet he was never managed to acquire enough money to pay a barber to do something about, or at least a hat to cover up, that unfortunate hair, I see.

I tend to split superhero comics fans into "People who like Krypto" and "People who don't like Krypto."

Even worse, the lot did not contain what was advertised. 6 issues from the Villain Team-Up series were thrown in (2 copies were doubles). I thought I would take a chance on this seller again but clearly not worth it and I am politely asking for a return.
Those were unfortunate...mine arrived within acceptable levels of sprayer's ink and as described. The treasuries arrived in NM condition, that lot was probably the best of the bunch.

I realise that people's milaege varies considerably on this board regarding "condition tolerance", but personally I wouldn't give two hoots about that inking. I'd just be excited to have those early issues of Marvel Team-Up in my collection.

why, it's not like they are really that rare, its all down to what you pay. if you pay a fair amount you expect decent condition comics, i wouldnt mind owning them in that state if i only paid like $1.50 each or something.

in the end its all down to what you pay. I only use ebay sellers if theyre cheap and then i'm willing to take a risk on condition.

I generally accept " good" condition on my books. I draw the line at having any detached covers, cut outs or pages missing. And of course the price has to match the "good" grade.

I usually draw the line at detached covers, but I have been put into a bit of a dilemma recently over this.

One of the last issues of Boy Comics I need is #14. There are two copies currently on ebay for the same price, listed at the same grade, Good. One of these looks quite nice and is solid except it has a detached cover. The other has an attached cover but otherwise is much, much rougher looking.

So far I haven't pulled the trigger, but I am leaning towards the one of the detached cover, which is unusual for me. I'm just not sure which one to get or whether to hold out for a nicer copy. Finding a nicer copy in my price range is going to be hard, though, so...

Get the detached one if you like the colors and stay on the lookout to upgrade!

I agree. I can be fussy but if I had the chance to get a really old Spidey issue and it had the detached cover, I would (if the price was fair). Book is still there more than the other copy and looks nicer too!

As for my inked beauties, I paid around $2.25 per book. Which is more than I would like considering I didnt even want (nor expect to get) the Super Villain Team-Ups. They replaced MTU #4, 10, 15, 16 which was a realy bummer since I wanted those. It was just a bad buy, luckily the seller was willing to compensate/return. Onwards to another purchase!

The few GD's that ive bought from Mile High and mycomicshop have had covers intact and were not overly grotty condition (except the one which looked like a can of coke had been poured over it), maybe just a corner missing of the cover or other slight rip/tears which werent too bad. Maybe look to get one from MHC or mycomicshop?

Picked these up on ebay. Just about completed Marvels Greatest comics and Marvels collectors items classics.

Talk about a memory rush! I remember the day I bought that MCIC #22, where I bought it (the Piggly Wiggly on 64th and Yakima), who I was with (my brother), the weather (beautiful early summer day) and why I had money for comics (straight A's, back in those halcyon pre-algebraic days). I'd wanted to read the original Diablo story ever since seeing the Hanna-Barbera adaptation (Paul Frees was Ben Grimm!) and it did not disappoint. Happy, happy times. Thanks, 'bone!

Neat -- same here. Well, not the part about the Piggly Wiggly on 64th & Yakima (though there's a 1-in-5 chance, I guess, that I bought the issue at the Piggly Wiggly at U.S. 82 & Central) or distinctly remembering the day in question, but I did snare #22 when it was new.

Not sure why I bought this one, but I most certainly did; there's every good chance it was the 2nd FF story I ever read, since I recall buying only one issue of the actual series as a kid.

I think I've still got my coverless copy.
