BTW, kudos on your near-complete run. That's a monumental achievement. Seriously.
I was looking at CGC 5.5's just yesterday that were for sale on eBay and Heritage. I would say your grading is about right.

Thank you for the compliment. It seems like I have been working on it forever -- but it's only been around seven years now.

It'll probably take another three or four -- if life doesn't get in the way.

Good luck with your collecting -- especially running down an AF #15!

I have that Superman 400 issue although it is pretty worn out because I've read it over and over again. It has some amazingly great stories in it. There is also some excellent art but man, the writing is pretty much top notch. The Exile at the Edge of Eternity is just outstanding.

I'm not much of a Star Wars fan, but Darko Macan and Dave Gibbons seems too good to pass up. I may have to track these down.

Been ages since I read 'em, but I have these. If I remember correctly, this story is set soon after the Battle of Yavin and centers on Vaders search to obtain the identity of the "force strong" rebel pilot who destroyed the Death Star. Of course, he discovers that the pilot was in fact his own son. Might have to dig these out and give a read again.

Picked up a couple of early '80s issues of Commando comic today. These were a pure nostalgia purchase for me, since I used to own both books as a little kid. I'm looking forward to reading these in bed tonight, but just flicking through them it's surprising how familiar many of the panels are to me. Great UK war comics with plenty of dastardly "Jerrys" and British heroes with "stiff upper lips". Great stuff!

I see those Commando comics at the bookstores often. They tend to bundle a few together and sell as one lot. From what I gather they are popular among certain fans.

Vader's Quest is a cool read. I was really happy when I found them among a stack of comics. From what I gather, they had been out the back in storage for years. Most of them were laying flat in a cardboard box. Some bagged. Some not. But all in very nice condition.

Didn't know they got as far as America. I always thought that Commando comics were a decidedly British thing. Does anybody know if these comic books were ever on sale in the U.S.?
