I am mildly concerned though. Looking back through her feedback, she sold this lot to a guy and he never got them. He left feedback saying she refunded him money but still....I'm wondering about this person.

She also had a lot of MTU books for cheap and it was down to the final few hours. Then, suddenly, she edited the auction and put more time on. Needless to say, my bid got beat eventually but I thought I was in line for a win. Im skeptical now...

I'm familiar with Tinkie too, have been a repeat buyer several times and happy with what arrived (and I am a finicky one). I think my last lot was a bunch of Treasuries..

If she refunded without any sort of resistance, I'd say she acted properly. Things do go missing in the mails.

Now, that I'm a bit more dubious about ...

    Thoughts, anyone?

With which ink overspray presumably isn't any sort of concern. I'm at work & of course my Treasuries aren't, but I don't recall them as possessing that particular feature. If memory serves, because of their size they were shelved with full-size magazines, & only the comics were subjected to the spraying.

Well they better not have gone missing in the mail because she relisted them and I bought em haha. What I think is that she wasn't happy with the price and relisted it. I also think she bid jumped my bid on the one I won, but got stuck winning it. Which is why I got a second chance offer IMMEDIATELY after the auction ended. As long as I get the books, I be happy though. She does have more good feedback than bad...and the free shipping had me still semi positive.

Leslie Cabarga's a guy, but you can substitute the great MK Brown. Or Carol Lay.

Duh. Thought I'd removed him; for some reason, I tend to confuse him with Lee Marrs.

I take back my positive comments, then. Doesn't sound like a crook by any means, but certainly someone with loose ethics.

Picked up this bad boy after hearing so many positive reviews on the board. Glad to finally have this in my collection.

Also heard this was a good read as well.

And although not a comic I thought the 80's lovers here would appreciate this one...a Garbage Pail Kids book detailing all of the first few series of cards. It also includes actual cards that were never released, and the slipcover is the same kind of wax-paper as the card wrappers were.

i have that Garbage Pail Kids book. This will no doubt only appeal to those who were at school during the mid-80's, those things were huge in my school playground but i doubt older people would have even heard of them, maybe?

Also, I want to take some space to recommend Trina Robbins's The Great Women Cartoonists. It's one of those books where my only criticism is I want it to be twice as long and twice as in-depth.

Also, what a great age for women cartoonists and comicy people: Amanda Conner, Joelle Jones, Carla Speed McNeill, Gail Simone, Colleen Doran, Alison Bechel, Marjane Statrapi, Faith Erin Hicks, and probably a million I'm forgetting.

Happily, Dynamite has The Art of Ramona Fradon scheduled for release in a couple of months (I preordered a copy about 20 minutes ago, as it happens, along with Wonder Woman: The Twelve Labors & a couple of collections of current comics), & Dewey Cassell is writing a book on Mirthful Marie, so at least these two titanic talents seem to be in line to receive at least part of their due.

That & Trina's A Century of Women Cartoonists, The Great Women Superheroes & From Girls to Grrlz : A History of Women's Comics from Teens to Zines are all on my want list.

I remember them being on sale at supermarket counters & the like back then, & if memory serves as not-so-great movie (or TV show?) came out, too. My age-group's general equivalent was probably Wacky Packages; I own a very similar volume , right down to the inclusion of bonus never-released cards, on those.

They have a book on Wacky Packages? I had those stickers all over my notebooks in school.

Oh yeah. Its really well done. I love it that the cover is like the wax package you'd get when you bought them as a kid....
