found some nice warehouse deals on amazon:
Classic Dan Dare: Reign of the Robots 146 page HC for only £2.29 delivered
also, Brian Bendis Torso for £4.32 delivered
surely they were mistakenly priced. im not complaining.
I don't know if either are classic, but I loved TORSO. It's the first BENDIS book I ever read. If you haven't already, hunt down Goldfish and then Jinx!
So im told , though theyre hardly high on my list of priorities. i only got Torso because it was so cheap![]()

Not really a comic per se, but possibly of interest to some folks here. I picked up Robert Crumb's "Heroes of Blues, Jazz & Country" in my local bookshop. It collects the drawings from Crumb's three early '80s trading card sets and also comes with a bonus CD (supposedly compiled by Crumb himself) featuring a selection of 21 tracks by a few of the artists in the book. I'm a big fan of pre-war blues anyway, but the country and jazz recordings on the CD are equaly enjoyable. This book really is a thing of beauty and was surprisingly cheap.

MY PULL LIST
All-Star Western • Avenging Spider-Man • Hit-Girl • Lady Mechanika • Road To Oz • Sherlock Holmes: The Liverpool Demon • Superior Spider-Man • Star Wars • Star Wars: Dark Times
Got a tpb from Amazon.com not a classic comic but seems like an interesting read. Time Lincoln which seems to be about Abraham Lincoln going back in time and saving the universe. Its been on my Amazon wishlist for sometime so I finally pulled the trigger and bought it.
This is a great place for snagging bargains. The other day I got Vol. 5 of the Fanta reprint of Prince Valiant for about the same price it would cost to buy the latest issue of Red Hood and the Outlaws. I also got #19 of Mome for about the same price as a pasty (inc VAT).
Big fan of this.

I just came back from the Boston Comic Con. I'll write up a longer report when I have a chance, but the short version is that it was incredibly crowded, more so than I've ever seen a Boston con. There were a lot of dealers and a ton or artists. I got in early enough so I didn't have to wait to get signatures from any of the people on my list. And then I hit the stands. I didn't actually find the larger ticket items I was looking for (strangely, I didn't see a single copy of Journey Into Mystery #102), but I did come home with a ridiculously huge haul.
In total I spent about $240 and came home with 148 comics.
By far the coolest things I found in the cheap bins were a huge run of surprisingly nice issues of Invaders (I ended up with 16 issues at 80 cents each) and a gigantic run of Sgt. Rock, consisting of about 38 issues for a buck each, almost all of which were clearly unread vendor stock and thus in amazing condition.
Other pickups (all of which are pre-Crisis on the DC side):
6 issues of Superman
9 issues of Superman Family
14 issues of Action including a 100 page special (#449), the 40th anniversary issue (#484) and #500
6 issues of Adventure starring Supergirl (most of which are double sized issues)
12 issues of Wonder Woman
7 issues of Lois Lane
and 48 totally random comics, including a couple I was looking for (Prez #2! Detective Comics #521!) and some stuff I very much was not looking for (the 1st issue special debuts of Lady Cop and Dingbats of Danger Street, Son of Tomahawk, Marvel Premiere starring the Legion of Monsters, all three issues of Marvel Premiere featuring Doctor Who, etc.).
I did make one colossal error, so here's a word of advice I should have taken myself, especially since I have done this before: If you see something you like, buy it, even if it's at the first booth you stop at. A guy had a handful of 10 cent issues of Action and Adventure from around 1960 for $3 each and I almost bought them but decided to look around first. When I came back a hlaf hour later, they were long gone. It was just dumb of me not to buy them right up front.
Still, though, I ended up with probably more comics than I will ever actually get around to reading. Now I just need to figure out where the heck I am going to put them all...
