I always try to keep it to the late 1980's and its rare I post anything beyond the 90's and 2000's. I did post that Walking Dead #2 I got in a trade weeks ago. Which I thought needed to be posted since I was happy as hell. But its rare I post anything so new.

On the topic, I recently ordered a near mint copy of Venom: Finale #1:

Most of the 90s Venom comics past The Hunger are somewhat rare and difficult to come by as opposed to stuff like Lethal Protector and The Mace. Probably because the series was probably already slated for cancellation (and the stories were really getting sloppy).
Oh yeah by the point this came out Marvel was ending the Venom miniseries . Because they seemed to realize ...they had a special character. But like Ghost Rider and the Punisher years earlier...they over exposed him.

The signature of the Unknown Worlds of Science Fiction is Puigdomench. I did a quick search under the name I don't see anything else this artist has done in comics. There's a Jose Martorell Puigdomench, a Spanish fine artist, but its more like 19th/20th Century still lifes. Do any of the other Classic Comic collectors know of this artist or what else he (perhaps she) might've done?
I have #3 of that Magazine. I believe the issue I have has a Harlan Ellison story inside.

On the whole, the series was wasted on pointless crossovers and a complete lack of character development on the part of Venom. I think a large part of the problem is that they tried to have the character be both a hero while remain Spiderman's chief foe, something that ultimately couldn't balance itself out.

I am finding that it is getting harder and harder to buy nice looking ASM books on ebay. Methinks the upcoming movie is affecting this or maybe the market getting a little better for sellers. That being said, I scored this ASM #97, completing the three set of the drug issue no codes for me. My other two are in VG/FN and this looks to be a little nicer which is great. In addition, I added ASM 204 and 280 for cheap (both VF). Grand total after shipping for all 3 is around $25.

Its weird someone would notice this in my signature after like almost a year or 2 of having it there.

Bout a year or 2 ago I was changing my signature and had the word "ass" i believe in a sentence or something. I never realized it was against the rules or a mod on another board would send me a warning and delete the signature. I had it there for a long while and one day got a PM warning over it lol. So as a joke I made that up then...to demand we allow swearing. No one seemed to really notice my signature til this moment . Ha

Well, that's silly. I don't know how many people would consider "ass" as swearing; if it is, it's about as mild an example as I can imagine.

God forbid anyone quote the detestable Frank Miller's vile "I'm the goddamn Batman" comic. (Actually, if memory serves one CBR regular uses the last 2 words of that as his handle. Horrors!

Jonah does want the site to remain family friendly but he leaves it up to the individual moderators as to how rigorously it's enforced. Some mods are overly rigorous and some aren't rigorous at all but most seem to give reasonable consideration to intent and context before making their decision. It wouldn't be necessary if there weren't so many posters (nobody on this board, thankfully) who seem unable to express themselves online if they can't interject "f**k" two or three times into every sentence.

    The bastards.

From my perspective, it's not getting harder, it's been around the same for the past 5 years. The high-grade deals still come around if you are on at an opportune time but the debut issues and key silvers almost always attract competitive bidding.

I was lucky to pick up a couple issues...will post them later as they're still in their priority mail packages....

Still working on completing my run on Amazing Spider-Man, and now I am one closer...

    I present to you, Amazing Spider-Man #75:

This brings the number of issues I want down to 27. If I can find a VF (or higher) copy of #63, that would give me a run from 31-103. The black issues are hard to find in nice condition. (I don't what I am going to do when I get to issue 28...)

    Peace,
