What Classic Comics Have You Purchased Lately? Pt. 2

I haven't read the Simonson Thor, so I couldn't say. I like various things Simonson's done before and after it, but something about the look of his Thor run has always turned me off. I think it's less that series in particular than the general look of Marvel comics at that time. Can't quite put my finger on it; the colours are too glaring, and look wrong for the paper, but it isn't just that.

Most recently, I bought a few odds and ends on-line:

Weird World #1 (thanks to Roquefort Raider, who sent me a copy of #3, allowing me to realise I wanted the rest of this ERB adaptation)

Chamber of Chills (forget the issue # - nice Frank Brunner art)

Vampirella #42 (last specific issue I was looking for of the this Warren series, though I'll probably end up finding there are others I'll want)

Hot Stuf' #1 (thanks to whoever mentioned this b&w mag here on the Board a few months back)

several issues of Alien Worlds (once again, thanks to the Board for reminding me of this nice 80s series)

several issues of the Trimpe/Severin Hulk

I recently picked up the full run of these as well. At one point I had drawn a few of the covers I liked them so much. Pretty good series and not that expensive.

My best most recent Classic Comics gets. Bravados #1 by Skywald, Butch Cassidy #1 by Skywald, and Wolverine 1980's minnie series 2,3. Now I just need #1 to complete it for about the 6th time. This time I think I will hold on to them :)

I waited and got all of the Simonson Thor stuff in the tpb's. Then a few months ago I bought a HUGE lot of comics, many of which were Thor's and now I have 95% of the run in issues too.

I've been busy with work so I haven't been posting much but I did got to a local show yesterday. It was just individual dealers with 80s, 90s and recent backstock. I brought $40 thinking I'd plug some holes... And then I won the $50 door prize and set myself loose of the fifty cent bins... So for $30 total I bought the following with 90% of it VF or a little better...

I just went to a local convention and bought almost $120 worth of comics, including Avengers #19, Avengers #58 and Amazing-Spider-Man #30.

I just bought the 4-issue Kurt Busiek/Trina Robbins Legend of Wonder Woman series off of ebay for $9 shipped.

(Kidding. I'm pretty sure I paid a lot less a few years back, but I'm also sure my copies couldn't pass for brand-spanking-new; those copies look great.)
