    What's happening next Mr Gischler?

I dunno, Nick Lowe, hasn't told me yet.

I appreciate him taking time to answer some of our questions, but when he isn't working with anything solid it's hard to know what to ask him. He doesn't have a long range storyline, it's just whatever team-up seems like a good idea and whatever X-Men he feels like adding in with Emma and Wolverine. Whatever story he tells, even if he changes the characters, he doesn't seem to have the luxury of exploring it at all. Jubilee is getting one more issue to be looked at by him, but he seems clear that he won't be coming back to her and if he wanted to, she'd have been more then a plot device in the initial arc. It shows that this story came very inorganically to life, and this title is much the same.

Lol pretty much this title has editorial interference written all over it.

Grishler is the first writer to make me like Dark Beast, so I hope he gets to write Dark Beast again.

It's kind of strange that Marvel launched a new X-Men volume without it actually having a clear vision for the future.
It's mostly just 'X-Men team-up' which would be okay if it was titled that way.

I loved his Dark Beast. I really hope that he can keep using the character. My favorite part of that whole arc was watching Dark Beast let that stupid lizard twist in the wind.

I agree that his Dark Beast was enjoyable. I've enjoyed the series thus far honestly, I just wish that arcs didn't seem so random.

Not really fortyseven, if anything it was a deliberate PR move. X-Men vol. 3 is definitely tailored to casual comic readers or new comic readers who have started thanks to watching the X-Men cartoons and/or watched the series. They pick it up because it prevents the new readers from dealing with the overwhelming burden of a half century, plus, of insanely inane and ridiculous continuity.

It's self contained, yet feels relevant.

this book is a hell of a lot better than both uncanny and astonishing, so lets cancel those 2 first.

Hell yes to canceling Astonishing, that title is going no where and has no relevancy. I'll admit, it had no relevancy under Warren Ellis, but I enjoyed it so much it didn't matter to me.

However, I would like to give Kieron Gillen a fair shake on Uncanny. In my opinion, his opening arcs for Uncanny X-Men hold up better than Matt Fraction's.

The rest is debatable, but how does this book feel relevant?
What is this, Horseville? Because I'm surrounded by naysayers.

From a new reader's perspective, it feels relevant because it has most of the main, instantly recognizable X-Men; Storm, Gambit, Cyclops, Magneto, and for Angel/Archangel.

To our perspective, the title is a throw away, and not important. Again, from a Marketing stand point for attracting new readers to the X-Men, X-Men vol. 3 is actually a solid product. New fans feel it's relevant because not only are there instantly recognizable X-Men on the team, but they team up with other heroes or MU vigilantes like Spider-man and Blade, respectively.

To me that means it is new reader friendly, not relevant, as it matters little to none in the context/story/continuity of the X-Men.

Which doesn't make it bad. I LOVED this past arc. But the series is X-Men: Team-Up. Marvel relaunched the title (even with the original Adjectiveless (now Legacy) X-Men running) with the Heroic Age. They are using MU characters to help attract new/different readers. And telling stories that are fun, light, with little to no impact on direction or character.

I don't mind at all, but lets call a spade a spade.

Okay. You have proven your point and I concede to it. It was a great arc, even if the entire series is editorially mandated. I just wanted to get across the fact that to a new reader to the X-Men franchise it would seem relevant to them; however, to readers like us it's not. Different perceptions from different people, but you are right, either way.
