Yes, her days with the Great Lakes (insert name of the day) crew tends toward Mad Magazine territory.

Sure, merging her into an Amalgam concoction called Power Squirrel is a fanatical wet dream.

But.

Did she have enough real action in Civil War to punch her ticket legit?

I have to agree that the joke of Squirrel Girl has gotten old, especially in this new era of Dark Reign. Any appearance by her at this juncture would just be a silly distraction and ruin the gravity of the situation. Its the first big crossover characters like Loki, Osborn, Namor and Doom have played a large roll in for quite a while.

I think she would only be legit if she were in the Marvel Adventures line or the new Superhero Squad cartoon. In the real MU, she should be road kill by now if she went up against the "real" Thanos or Doctor Doom or whatever villain the writer chooses to satirize. Now I wonder what we could do to arrange a Squirrel Girl vs Sentry match...?

If there were any justice, Jed Clampett would shoot her and Granny would be whompin' up an awesome squirrel stew. Heck, Bulleye should be able to kill her with an acorn.

What's the difference between Squirrel Girl and Deadpool? They both talk equal fourth wall comedy, why is he legit and she is not?

That's what made me not like the character. They were transparently trying to make her popular by dailing down real villains. Now if she had her own roster of simularly silly villains then that'd be fine. She should be stopping bankrobbers with all the powers of a beaver not world killers, that cheapeens the character faster than a hostess fruitpie.

Well I don't like deadpool but he has guns and a healing factor and that's his shtick, when he takes out the watcher then he's punching above his weight without reason and I will be just as displeased.

But that would be the irony of it, that she dies from an acorn fired into her skull at high velocity. Let her try and eat that!

I just think she does not belong in the same universe as the characters she has encountered. She belongs to that same wacky world where Santa Doom rides a rocket powered sled and delivers toys to an orphanage.
