Which "ones" should I get?

So, I started reading a Marvel ongoing for the first time last month with FF #1, and I noticed there was a few number ones this week - or at least a one number one and a few point ones. Which "ones" should I pick-up? Should I try The Mighty Thor #1? And which series is better, Avengers or [/i]Secret Avengers[/i]?
