    WELEASE THA KWAKEN!

Cthulhu has a healing factor, so he probably wins.

Also Cthulhu can cast magic against the Kraken.

Being the High Priest of Azthoth for his people, the Star Spawn.

And that city of his was not built on Earth, he "teleported" the whole damn thing with his power.

The Kraken goes down from some mini nuke fireballs. (Since Azthoth, is pretty much Nuclear Fire Chaos, that twists everything in a horrid way.)

Plus the Kraken doesn't have much of a brain; Cthulhu would mind-fry him so bad he would turn ash-white.

    Kraken > Boat

    Cthulhu < Boat

    Therefore:

    Kraken > Cthulhu

Except for the part that a boat doesn't have a brain.

The Kraken's not much better. Besides, having a brain means that it can go insane and fall into a coma, after which its flesh will house the spawn of the sea and nourish the beasts that flicker behind the mind's eye.

I'm pretty sure the Kraken's too stupid for Cthulhu's whatever aura to affect.

I've never totally been satisfied with the whole Lovecraftian insanity stuff. Most of the characters are weak willed and half-sane to begin with.

I would think that an animal mind would be easier to dominate than a full functioning human brain.

Indeed, mythical Kraken would beat Cthulhu in sheer badassery!

but for this topic, cthulhu would stomp one of his movie versions.

Mythical Kraken is a species of exagerated Giant Squids from Norse legend, not an individual.

An animalistic monster isn't badass, which is largely personality based, simply cool.

Having accually read alot of his stuff in the past month i can solidly say they are not. Infact the very guys that freaked out from Cthulhu had just previously fought and killed a cultist pirate crew and even when faced with his alien city were mostly brave enough to go right up to the door that held him. Only after they saw him did they freak out. But admittedly that had more do do with "OMG! their is a giant man eating alien attacking us", than any sort of insanity aura. Mythos insanity tends to be more shell shock induced as opposed to an aspect of the entities themselves. Their are exceptions but those are few and far between and Cthuhu isn't one of them. Though Cthulhu in that story did by dreams show visions of themselves into people worldwide but most didn't go insane or only did so for the duration of the dreams.
Yeah I give up. They would need like a bajillion UNs to take it out. And they would all have to work.

That's for mind control. Sanity is a seperate issue.

Most of the Cthulhu Mythos's feats are for inspiring existential dread by shattering someone's worldview, not really an issue for a wild animal that doesn't think about that sort of thing.
