"Miranda Tate" huh? Sounds like Talia's going undercover. Or not, they could surprise us and she could be exactly what they say she is, but I remain suspicious.

If they cast a young Ra's in the movie it would be kind of weird if Talia wasn't in the movie.

    Just saying.

I wouldn't be surprised if Levitt was just playing a cop in the movie but I'd wouldn't be surprised if he was someone else too. I'm pretty sure the League is planning to take down Batman on all fronts in this movie.

Are we 100% sure DKR will be about the League of Shadows again?
I have this idea for the next X-teme Games Gold Medal Event--Bear Tickling. Its like Bull riding but more X-treme! You are timed on how long you can tickle a bear before he attacks you.

Well, how hard is it to whip up some phony character bios of some seemingly minor roles to throw people off?

special cop role directly under Gordon may just mean that Gordon wants Batman to know that despit the official censure and warrant against him for Dent's murders that unofficially there's still a way for them to work together to fight crime. As others were saying, it doesn't have to all be Hugo Strange and the League. Given how The Dark Knight ended and what Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character is described as being I'm inclined to say that a flat, literal reading of his role makes the most sense for now.

Miranda Tate as a cover for Talia "could" work. While I don't assume that's likely it's possible. It may be fun if there's an irony that Tate appears as a good guy and Catwoman appears to be a villain but to show by the end of the film that the reverse is true. It'd be a trope out of a Bond film, of course, but Nolan seems to go for plot twists like that.

who cares who they play. you're going to like it anyway, and if you don't, this isn't the thing that'll keep you from liking it.

    I wouldn't say 100%

But Bane has some connection to them in the comics, they keep talking about bringing it back to the first movie and they did cast a young Ra's Al Ghul.

So I say it's pretty likely. 80% sure maybe.

It would also help if the movie was actually finished (they haven't even started shooting yet). A lot can go wrong or right between now and July of 2012.

    I suppose that possibility exists.

in all likelyhood, it'll go off without a hitch, and be heralded as the best 3rd film in a series ever made. then the backlash...

ha, well the backlash is going to happen either way. It's certainly got some "pre"-lash with complaints that Hathaway isn't right for Selina Kyle. I'm expecting I should have fun watching the movie. Is this the part where I'm supposed to say that it's gotta be better than that sucky Green Lantern movie?

Wow, there's going to be a lot of secondary characters in this film ... or if you look at it from the League of Shadows perspective, there's going to be a lot of villains in this film. Massive cast, it'll be great to see how it gets handled.

Yeah, it seems like Batman is going to be attacked from all sides in this one.
