RIP Spider-Man
diggin the costume. not so much diggin the idea of not peter. i read the comic for peter not for the spider-man name
RIP Spider-Man
I kinda hope they do. It'll give them a good chance to give a minority character a big push.
Also, I would've inverted the colors for the suit at least for the chest and head. More red, less black.
I also don't understand why they don't just run with Spider-woman instead of creating a new Spider-person IF it's truly not Peter Parker and he didn't just get a name change to protect his identity.

I second that notion on the costume, it certainly looks better than what Peter's wearing in the 616 verse.
I for one like the costume. I don't know why it just kind of appeals to me. But the real question is...
Who Is The New Spider-Man?
Just saw this on Bleeding Cool. Although I'm excited, I wish Marvel wouldn't spoil things so blatantly.

It reminds me of that Alex Ross Spidey suit from a few years ago, what with the extra black, and the big 'V'.
And speaking of "extra black" (sorry, couldn't help myself), I find I'm actually behind the idea of switching up the ethnicity of one of the highest-profile comic book superheroes in the world. If nothing else, if they make him black, then they can take their reboot Spidey movie, which is supposed to be very "Ultimate" and actually cast Donald Glover as Spider-Man for a sequel. Could do a whole movie where they adapt the "Death of" story, and then hand it off to Glover at the end, like he's Doctor Who.
The new costume is pretty good. The only character that I think would make sense, without it feeling pretty contrived, is the Scorpion clone. However, he hasn't appeared in almost 50 issues so it may feel a little out of the blue, especially for readers who started reading post-Ultimatum.
I want the transition to at least feel natural and not just have some randomer appear or randomly given Spider powers by whoever. It also shouldn't be the Spider in any capacity. The Spider hasn't been seen or mentioned in any USM book, so to have him take over the title would be ridiculous.
Maybe it could be MJ and when she gets really angry she becomes the Demigoblin?
