Well that's a relief
But was Kat Dennings overly annoying like she appears in the trailers?
review - plot ruining walk through. what's the difference...
You guys really need to learn how to do movie reviews without recapping segments of the movie. There is absolutely no reason for this review to talk about what the role of the Warrior Three is in the movie or who Thor fights in the final battle.
Review the acting, the score, the pacing. Even review the final battle. Just don't tell us what is going on. That's not how reviews work.
This wasn't super spoilery but there's stuff that simply has no reason for being there.
Another positive review. It sounds like a merry romp.
Wow, you make no sense. If you read the review and have seen the trailers, then you'd know MOST of the plot he's discussed has been revealed in the trailers. This review actually has less plot in it than most reviews I read online. Even the best reviewers out there -- Ebert, Morgenstern, etc. -- include plot. No, reviews can and often do include some plot discussion.
And if you tell me you've not watched the trailers so as not to have anything spoiled, then why are you reading a review? Even if you have watched the trailers, if you're that concerned with any sort of plot discussion, why read any review? You can tell by the title it's a positive review.
Sorry, I just get frustrated when people post asking other people to take responsibility for themselves.

I ain't no hot dog, yo.
Another positive review. These are coming from geek websites that are more invested in this stuff then normal folks. I'm curious how it will play for the mainstream critics that embraced the first Iron Man and Dark Knight.
So far it sounds like it's good but light superhero flick (not a bad thing).
Not bad and honestly I am pleasantly surprised. But I'll wait for less fan-boy interested reviews, if you get my drift. Can't wait to get a chance to judge it for myself. Oh and I agree, there are ways of reviewing a film without going into odd detail about scenes, but hey no one forces you to read it. Poor DC...

Part of me wants to say that I'm more interested in the reviews of the comic book community than I am mainstream critics because i actually feel the geek community is more hypercritical of these types of movies. Also, they GET the source material and won't criticize the types of things we really don't need in the movies that other critics would harp on.
On the other hand, the bigger issue i have with some of these now-official sites that basically stemmed from popular wannabe critics (Aintitcool, HitFix, etc.) is that their wear their conflict of interest loud and proud. Sylvester Stallone used AICN for promoting his film and then VOILA, it gets a great review. And a lot of these sites show unflinching "critical" support for the shows and movies they have an "in" with and will inexplicably bash things with almost universal appreciation from elsewhere. It's manipulative and unprofessional at times, so it's sad that some of these sites actually carry a lot of weight. Not sure where CBR falls in this equation though they obviously have a very sweet relationship with Marvel.
It's probably a situation where you have to get a healthy mix of comic book o genre related website reviews, professional reviews (i.e. Ebert), word of mouth and even independent reviews from community writers and artists. Of course, at the end of day, I'm going to judge it on my own terms. And have been on a straight course to see this flick anyway.
Looks like between Cap and Thor Marvel will kick Green Lantern in the balls and take his lunch money.
I don't doubt the movie will be good. but i do believe it will be a hard sell to the public.
It's not so much that the review contains spoilers as that it is announced as being 'spoiler free' that's annoying. Personally I want to learn as much as I can about a movie before I plunk my money and two hours of my life in it, but I can understand if it bothers other people. ( I think about the only part not made clear is if Thor's banishment is actually part of an scheme of Odin's, as in the comics. Most likely.)
As for the movie itself, it sounds pretty much like I expected, but yeah, Thor stories have rarely been very deep or original. But maybe that's why we love them, just give Thor a target for his righteous rage and just let him loose. FOR ASGARD!! :D
One more comment: did they HAVE to make Jane a scientist? What, are nurses not respectable or something? (Though she later became a doctor.) Smells like PC BS to me. Oh, and too bad they couldn't fit Dr. Blake in there somewhere.
How is it that it is already available to anyone other than a movie critic? Not going to read these because I want to be surprised.
