Chamber Appreciation

Yeah, the closest anyone got, I think, was Frank Tieri, but it seemed like more of a one-note douchebaggery rather than the interesting stuff we saw in Generation X -- I didn't really like him that much there. Out of all the non-GenX stuff, I liked Brian K. Vaughn's Chamber most.

whoa I really have to disagree with you about Tieri. I think he didnt get him at all(only Greivoux did worse.) He degothed him(putting him in everyday jock wear, ugh) & turned him into "generic British guy". He clearly did like using him though...but then he goes & fixes his face...and then turns him into Poccy Jr...

CBR: The X-Men may have only been trapped in this reality for seven days, but to them, it's felt like like several years. I assume that if and when things go back to normal, the memories of this reality will be pretty traumatic.

Carey: Yeah, I think it will be devastating. If you think about the relationships that have been formed, just on that level there are going to be all kinds of after-shocks. For example, the fact that Storm, who is married in the real world, has been having a relationship with another man for what feels like three years. We've also got the relationship between Cyclops and Frenzy. There's a lot of stuff like that, and it will leave scars. It has to leave scars. We'll start to see how some of the characters deal with the fall-out in "Legacy" #248.

The preview pages for Legacy #248 already made it seem this way (particularly the Cyke/Frenzy panels), but this seems to be confirmation that everyone who was in Age of X is going to remember it, including Chamber.

so what do you all think of his return in Age of X? I think its fantastic & Id like to see Carey keep Jono around in Legacy after Age of X is over at least as a supporting character.

I've always had a soft spot for Chamber. Most people will think I'm daft but I'd love to see a comic where all the Xmen have some kind of handicap

Rogue when she couldn't touch anyone
Wolverine when he was bordeline psycho( neither of them are as interesting now they've become leaders)
Blindfold - get rid of the daft dialogue, and she could be another Destiny

Whedon's original dialogue for Blindfold is the only way I've ever liked the way she speaks.

But yeah, that would be fun. Might as well swap Wolverine for Penance, since she and Chamber have a history and she's more handicapped. I'd buy the hell out of that comic. And subscribe. It'd be the closest thing we'd get to Generation X since those characters, by and large, were all handicapped in one way or another by their powers. Or at least freakish because of 'em.

its been so long since "Gordon Bennet!" ... that takes me back to when i first discovered Chamber & I was puzzled at who this mysterious "Gordon" was that he kept yelling at.

anyone pick up legacy today? I understand Jono doesnt actually appear in the issue but what did they reveal about him?

also, isnt it nice to finally have confirmation from Carey that he was on the island all this tme? I just wish they had used him in the recent stories about Jubilee becoming a vampire. He should have been in the Jubes & Wolverne mini not friggin Rockslide.

I'm sad that Jono lost his connection to Apocalypse when he regain his powers. I mean I wanted X-force to confront him or at he playing a small part in the whole Dark Angel saga as Archangel becomings the new Apocalypse.
