Well, I think, if he'd gotten them back immediately after the Cult of Akkaba storyline, he'd see it as a good thing. The longer he spent as Apocalypse Jr., the more it wore on him mentally, right to the point of that cringeworthy bit of dialogue in New Warriors about him going to kill himself before Night Thrasher came along and saved him.

My reason for saying it was cringeworthy and out-of-character: Even if he saw himself as a ticking time bomb of potentially "apocalyptic" proportions, I don't think Jono's the kind of guy to consider killing himself, not after all he's been through in Generation X and his solo mini. Those stories were all about him accepting himself and he'd finally done that.

But, hey, maybe being depowered, made completely helpless (relying on life support to survive) and kidnapped by a cult shortly thereafter messed with his head enough that he would eventually consider it.

The point I'm getting to, in a really roundabout way, is that after New Warriors, he'd gotten to a point in his life where he was okay with his new reality. And I'm sure being whole again, gray or not, was great for him (especially since Frank Tieri never got the chance to go to the dark part of his Apocalypse, Jr. storyline that he hinted at, at the end of the Cult of Akkaba story in Excalibur).

So, he'd probably view it as a bad thing now. But hey, that's just my take on it. Jono's always surprised me (pleasantly so, most of the time), so I might not have the best handle on his character, lol.

Where are you getting the Chamber / Jubilee thing from? As far as I can tell, there was no clear leader in Generation X -- in fact, they kind of sort of took turns, lol.

There was Never a clear leader of Generation X.

Jubilee, Chamber, and Husk all took turns leading on missions.

Skin taking the Lead once during OZ:T, due to the fact that that he knew the area.

Only M and Synch never lead a mission, through they did drive the team forward once or twice.

    Oh. My. God.

Scott is bullethead again, so this is 616, right?? Looks like a convo between him and Dr. Kavita Rao about the effects of Age of X (with Chamber being the given example of some mutants having manifested their powers again).

If this is for real, I'm going to be sooooo happy! I hated M-Day and what it did to the story of the mutants.

EDIT: Just to be clear, this will be his first appearance in the 616 'verse since the end of New Warriors, right? I don't want to miss anything. ^_^

I didn't see this until you reposted it, but the x-ray scans clearly indicate that the bottom part of his jaw and his neck are gone. It's definitely Chamber. :D (though with more of a chest that I'd expect)

I love Chamber, but nobody's really 'got' him since Lobdell. I liked him best when he was being a moody, self-pitying douche.

I don't think Chamber had any real leadership potential. It never seemed like something he would be interested in- he was always more of a brooder/slacker. Husk and M were the real leaders in waiting.

well it depends, what's worse? missing a good chunk of your body or looking like the mutant version of Hitler? hmmm... o__o

Im so happy to see all the Chamber love...it brings a little tear to my eye(sniff)...

That's really great, thanks for sharing. :) I liked her "Hollow" too. ^_^

Yeah, the closest anyone got, I think, was Frank Tieri, but it seemed like more of a one-note douchebaggery rather than the interesting stuff we saw in Generation X -- I didn't really like him that much there. Out of all the non-GenX stuff, I liked Brian K. Vaughn's Chamber most.

I didn't think he did, either, but if Kevin Grevioux did right by Chamber at all, it was in the issues where he took charge as a leader. He was pretty good, there (though if that was on his own merits or just cos no one else was better, I dunno...). But the characterizations for all the mutant characters were way off in that series anyway.

I think he's learned to relish his vast telepathic energy. In fact his certain brand of tp/tk? (what is it exactly?) made me think of how tp/tk abilities used to be very specific. that not all telepaths or teke's could do the same thing as another- a snowflake quality. Does anyone have a scan of his energy signature from Gen X number one where it's like a full panel of aura coursing outta him?

Lobdell really broke the mold with these kids. He made this a team of leaders entirely so that they could all be utilized on any X-team in that capacity no matter the seniority or rank of the squad. Genius.

He was ordered to, and he still had reservations about it. That order came from and Wolverine was just relying orders from the "Top".

Cyclops or Proff X? take your pick.

On another note, Should Jono be able to partially reconstruct his face now?

He has normal Skin tone, but he has burning plasma instead of apocalypse markings, and flaming whole in the shape of Akkaba symbol?

Or at least mimic a lower chin with the plasma?

I mean, yes it is not as if he spent the time since the decimation practicing, But is it wrong to hope for an improvement in power control?
