[Cleric of Hell's Brigade]

Long, long ago, The Creator, last of a race from another universe, made this Universe and all within it. He also created sentient races on several of the planets throughout the universe, one such species being mankind upon the planet, Earth. To guide mankind, The Creator set upon the Earth entities that would watch over mankind and help them evolve and grow, so that they could, one day, be like unto The Creator and his race had been, thus continuing the evolution of all sentient life. They would evolve, and eventually, follow The Creator into the next universal plain of existence. Once The Creator had set this mandate down, he, too, left this universe for another to continue his work, leaving the Gods to do his work.

However, the entities, called the Alaphim by The Creator, soon began to drift from their father's plan. They began to rule over humanity instead of guiding it, and factions began to fight against other factions as they forced humanity to worship, love, fear, and dread them, feeding off said emotions as a power source. Eventually, it broke out into an all out battle.


It was Ragnarok.


The Gods, Titans, the monsters, the legends, the myths, and the tall tales all fought each other as humanity raged with their deities. Lands sunk below the waves and the very Earth was forever changed as great cities collapsed and great mountains were shattered and new ones rose up.

Finally, there were but three Alaphim who survived. The first was Brahman, who having seen it's brother and sister gods perish who had followed her, broke herself apart into a unified spirit that would watch over it's remaining followers as the ultimate Hindu entity.

The second was Buddha, the youngest of the Alaphim. Horrified at the loss and the slaughter that humanity had gone through, Buddha remade himself into a man, Siddhartha Gautama, that he might live among the humans and teach them the way into enlightenment.

The last survivor was the oldest and strongest of the Alaphim. His name was Elohim, and as he watched all of his family die and a large part of humanity, he grieved. He swore that he would safe guard humanity, as his father, The Creator, had asked them to. So it was that he took upon himself the great burden of keeping humanity alive, guarded, and safe.

Now, in the 21st Century, humanity is precariously balanced as a darkness begins to plot it's destruction. The time has finally come for the fallen Alaphim to be reborn and take up their mantles of humanities protectors, or all will be lost.

Welcome all! In this RPG (the idea helped along and brainstormed with ChouBlaster's help) you will become a reborn god, goddess, titan, monster (or whatever) from Mythology/Legend/Folklore (any of them) and, hopefully, help save humanity.

You will have no memories of your previous Alaphim life (though, when awakened, you will remember the name you used back then and the basic knowledge thereof). This means you will retain your current personality and memories (so maybe the reincarnation of Zeus (or countless others) won't be such a dick this time around).

(If it helps, think of the reincarnation here as sort of like the one from Avatar: The Last Airbender. You'll recognize who you once were, but you are still a unique individual).

Please fill out the character creation sheet below if interested:

NAME: The full name of your character.

GENDER: Your character's gender.

AGE: How old your character is. Should be between 15 and 50 years of age.

FORMER PERSONA: Who your character was previously (Zeus, Odin, Ra, etc.....).

NATIONALITY: Where your character is from.

APPEARANCE: What your character looks like. Pictures are welcome, but written detailed descriptions are encouraged.

CHARACTER HISTORY & PERSONALITY: A basic description of your character's past and his or her more prominent character traits.

CHARACTER SONG (Optional): Music you associate with the character.

PERSONAL SKILLS: Here you may chose two minor skills your character has. Nothing extraordinary – basically just an everyday pair of talents which he or she happens to be good at. Cooking, drawing, singing, etc.

GOD POWERS(S): The power you start the game out with. This is dependant, of course, on which person you play as. (Hermes can't shoot lightning bolts, as an example). This power can be offensive, defensive, a weapon, general magic, etc......Every time you level up, you will unlock another of your God Powers and list it here.

When describing your chosen power, please be as specific as possible: I will want to know the ability, its effect, and preferably the mechanics behind the effect.

Also note that all reborn Alaphim will be on an even level with each other. Zeus' reborn character won't be more powerul than, say, Anansi is, all told.

Observe that a few powers will be banned for plot-related reasons. Also, as GM I reserve the liberty to impose restrictions to your powers or suggest alternatives.

STATS: Stats that determine the physical and mental abilities of your character unrelated to his or her Alaphim Powers. You have 10 points to start out with. Please note that a standard/average human being has stats of 1 in all categories (aside from power/skill).


Brawn: Concerns strength, endurance, durability and similar physical aspects.
Speed: Concerns actual body movement speed/running speed.
Agility: Concerns dodging skills, acrobatics, reflexes and reaction time, etc.
Perception: Concerns attention to detail, noticing the small things and being aware of one’s surroundings (also grants the user a higher chance of seeing through illusions and bearing up better against mental attacks).
Power: Generally indicates the scale the God Powers works on.
Skill: Generally indicates the quantities of effects your character can manifest and/or the degree of fine control he or she has of her powers. Also concerns fighting abilities and personal skills.

Oh, and just as a general rule:

I expect a certain level of good characterness here from all players. No lieing, no intentional power stealing/copying, no intentional power gaming, no snide comments to each other in this sign-up thread or in the Game Thread. No baiting or harrassing people either.

And, though I've never told anyone this before (never needed to, really), I work on a three strikes principle in all my RPG's. If you break the above thrice, I WILL boot you out and make sure a moderator warns you to stay out of the threads involved therein.

Seth's life has been mostly average, he hangs out with his friends, parties a lot, and goes to school at a decent University. However, he is getting bored with such an average life. There's nothing wrong with the way things are, Seth is fine with all of that, it's just that he wants something to happen. He wants to be somebody. A big shot. He wants to go down in history as having been someone.
Currently, he is on a trip to Hong Kong from New York to study abroad.
He may just get his wish, but of course, there's the old saying of 'be careful what you wish for'.

Tends to where a long, reddish-orange feather in her hair, threaded just behind her right ear. Located just an inch above her groin is a penny-sized tattoo of a red hourglass.

HISTORY: A former prostitute who escaped the life of the streets, and eventually became an experienced surgeon.

GOD POWERS(S): Powers revolve around the manipulation of the "Four Humors" (blood, black bile, yellow bile, phlegm). Through this, she will be able to manipulate people's mental and physical condition. (Grayed out powers are not yet unlocked.)

• Gut Twister - Disrupting the balance of the humors causes the person to become violently ill. They will feel horribly nauseous and dizzy, and will likely vomit and/or have diarrhea on the spot.
  
• Temperamental Warp - Yumina can influence a person's temperament to alter their mood and emotional state. She can also whip them back and forth between rage, sorrow, fear, and sadness to drive them crazy, or shut down their emotions to make them heartless.
• Cancerous Caress - Causes the victims body to swell up with horrific tumors, not only giving them terrible pain, but hindering their movement and health.
• Sin Golem - Yumina purges a target of their inner dark desires, vices, and other "evil" tendencies, and in doing so, creates a small monstrous creature which acts as a minion. The creature is loyal to Yumina, and will not harm her, or the person it was born from. The creature will take a form akin to whatever sin Yumina built it from. The creature will be as physically powerful as a human, but will also be capable of flight.
• Metabolic Overclocking - This ability enhances the efficiency and speed of the target's metabolism, forcing a rapid processing of nutrients and energy, while preventing the build up of fatigue toxins. The net result is that the target gains +2 to Brawn, Speed, and Agility for a few minutes. The downside of this is that the target will be left hungry and exhausted after this technique is used, so anyone effected by this ability will need to end their fight quickly.
• Hemopathy - By drinking the blood/eating the flesh of a target, she can see their memories and knowledge in a series of quick flashes.

What's the scope of the powers? Say I picked Loki, would my first level power need to be as simple as a wall of flame, or are you looking for something more exagerated?

Scope depends on you, though obviously, the powers won't be that powerful starting out. You could pick illusions as your first power as an example.

It also depends on how much you put into the Power category. Every 5 points there levels said power up and grants you a new power.

She also carries a mark in the shape of a dragon, snaking it's way around her left wrist, and stopping just short of the bottom of her palm... Just imagine it's there.

CHARACTER HISTORY & PERSONALITY: She has a fascination with dragons, both in fiction and folklore. Chey is usually free-spirited and outgoing, often using her powers in exotic and fun ways, and viewing her past life with mild interest and curiousity. This free-spiritedness was much more prominent during her early teen years, often hanging out with a less than noble crowd, though she doesn't talk about it often.


CHARACTER SONG (Optional): Music you associate with the character.

PERSONAL SKILLS:
Contortion- She practices contortion, which allows her to slip out of shackles and other types of bondage. ()
Hacking- During her younger years, she was involved in quite a bit of small crimes, and has learned a thing or two about hacking appliances such as ATMs or computerized locks.

GOD POWERS(S): Seeing as Shenlong is the god of rain and wind, she can control the flow of water and windas if it's second nature.

Hydrokinesis-
Chey can bend water to her will, though she needs to use her limbs in order to guide the water.

Aerokinesis-
Chey can control air currents, creating jets of air, creating spheres of wind or small-scale cyclones, though it requires the use of her limbs as well.

Iron Scales-
Chey can spawn red scales (white scales spawn over the dragon birthmark instead) over any of her limbs, which adds 1 Brawn for every 5 Power Points she has. Starting out at Power 10, she can only spread the scales over two limbs at a time, though the amount increases every multiple of 5.

FORMER PERSONA: Quetzalcoatl. The Sky God of Aztecs who brought forth humans from the dead world. And through magic humans live again. That is what the Aztec people belief in anyway.

CHARACTER HISTORY & PERSONALITY: His whole life he had dreams, of flying. Has no idea why. Aside that note he grew up in a rough town. Since then managed college and work. Becoming a teacher to help kids get the facts straight when it comes to life. he still has odd dreams. Of jungles and pyramids. Along with the primordal roar of nature itself.

Little does he know what Fate has in store.

Personality wise? He is a good guy all and all. A bit of a motor mouth sometimes. Also on the look out for a grand adventure.

2: His blood has healing factors, apply to a ally. (Rub on and have them taste blood) Helps cure injury.
3: Naturaly has a Healing Factor of his own.
4: Since a Sky Father, immune to eletric attacks.

NAME: Jack Vukasinovic

GENDER: Male

AGE: 23

FORMER PERSONA: Simargl, the Doom Hound, the Nameless Slavic Canine of Mass Destruction that was kept bound by the Zorya.

NATIONALITY: American.

APPEARANCE:


CHARACTER HISTORY & PERSONALITY: Hotheaded and brash with a deep distaste for authority. Has a nasty temper. Jack was born in a small town in the Northwest, but always felt constrained within it. After turning eighteen, he left his family and home behind, and began to roam the US on his bike. Living as something of a nomad, he survived off of oddjobs and by playing in bars for free drinks and peanuts.

Eventually he joined up with a biker gang, the Hellhounds. For a year and a half he road with them, until something happened that caused cut his association with them. Something that left twelve members of the Hellhounds in intensive care, and two of those in the morgue, by the time it was over. The gang still has it out for Jack, and orders to kill him on sight. For his part, Jack has much the same opinion on them.

Jack is notorious for getting into trouble and has stayed more than a few nights in the cooler for various reasons, from public drunkedness, to brawling, poaching etc. etc. Jack hates being contained, and has managed to outrun the cops more than once. Despite this he did have to stay a year in a state penitentiary, which he remembers as the worst year of his life. His favorite place to be is in biker bars and dives, where he associates with his favored activities of brawling, drinking and womanizing. Sometimes he even strikes up a tune.

Jack and his family don't get on very well, save for with his three younger sisters who he adores. He calls and talks to them each once a week, though he likes to keep this secret from others.

GOD POWERS(S): Chaos and Destruction. Simargl was bound by the Slavic Pantheon in order to keep it from destroying the world.

Devourer: Jack can drain the energy out of other things with a touch, the longer he holds on the more he drains, potentially sucking the life from an opponent, though their is a limit to how much energy Jack can contain. Energy that Jack drains transfers to him, giving him renewed vigor.
